The food is outstanding at this restaurant, farm to table type with great fresh local selections. The layout is modern and open, which means that the restaurant is noisy because there isn't much to break the travel of all the conversations. Impressive wine list.

So it's good, not Great and certainly not Very. The food is expensive for the type of food it is. I understand it's in the financial district. My husband eats here weekly for work. Of course, he doesn't look at the tab the way I do. We ate here before going to see Seinfeld at the Sony Centre. It's an... More

We had an early Valentine's dinner last night and it was amazing. Lobster and prime rib; the works! Amazing dessert, too. Service was very good and it was a cozy, romantic atmosphere. Will return when in the area!

Hubby and I headed to Toronto for a night and looking for a nice, quick serving restaurant as we were heading to Roy Thomson Hall for a show. Went into Reds Wine Tavern and instantly fell in love with ambience and décor. Had a wonderful meal, great service and will definitely go back again!

I booked this place for a co-workers going away lunch. I had originally booked us in for 20 people but that slowly whittled away to 15 people. The reservation staff were very accommodating and initially warned us that our service and paying on separate bills might slow things down a bit, which was fine, we weren't really in a hurry.... I was looking forward to come back to this restaurant since I live in Europe . But I was disappointed that my favorite dish was no longer on the menu, witch was the Shrimp with asian coleslaw. And the waitress didn't even check if they could still prepare it. I had the Calamari witch was good but I would have... More

Looking for a new pre theatre dining venue, I settled on Reds Wine as it has a very nice prix fixe menu on Saturday nights. We arrived and were greeted warmly with an offer to check our coats. A very nice young lady showed us to a table upstairs and menus were provided and explained. We settled on the prix... More

Went here because the Cactus Club next door had a lineup. Disclosure I was probably the oldest person in the room. But wow is it noisy. My younger colleague liked it - he's in his late 20s. We still managed to have a business discussion but had this place had a quiet corner it would have been easier. The food... More

Have been several times for after work drinks and apps. Not cheap and service is hit and miss sometimes but the place is always busy. Their martinis are also hit and miss, mostly good. Some staff choose to measure, most don't. Wings and edamame are very good.

Food is actually pretty good....had the branzino special....good portion and well prepared.but the butter served with the bred was rancid.....we returned it.....no apology or explanation and we did not get it replaced...strange. But this place is way too noisy....it was busy, of course..... it the acoustics are not good for plain talk....unless you like to yell.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
