This place rocks. What a find. It was advertised in my Canadian Stage Playbill, so on chance, I ate them after the play. Wow, was I amazed and taken aback. Cozy, quaint, sort of rustic decor and feeling. The waitstaff and service was excellent, no matter what you order. My friend had the calamari and then mussels, and I had... More

A great casual spot for some great seafood! Pearl Diver is a small restaurant with a very homey and rustic feel to it. We came here on a Thursday night and was quite busy, so reservations are recommended. We ordered the 100 oysters for $100 special (Thursday night's special). Oysters came in 3 batches to minimize wait time, which is... More

Has dinner here as a couple. Funky atmosphere/ casual interior. The food was very good ( warm goats cheese salad and Pacific grey cod. Oysters at the next table looked great! Service very friendly. Wine: Totally overpriced.

We 6 of us went to this restaurant today and I ordered diver's plate with trout. Excellent food. Seating was a bit tight for 6 people, but really enjoyed the food.

Good food but pricey. Loud and busy but well prepared food. Quick service. Fresh ingredients. If you want to go, call ahead. .

Great place to go with a small group. There were 8 in our group and we all had a fantastic time. Service was wonderful. We had a great variety of oysters as well as some other app. A bit of bubbly too. Great location and atmosphere. Will be back soon!

We headed downtown for my birthday tonight bc I loooooove oysters. My bf is not a seafood fan so he got the steak and it was great (I sampled a few bites;). I ordered the dozen for $18 and some scallops, also amazing. They even brought me a flourless chili chocolate cake complete with a birthday candle. Birthday oyster mission... More

Dropped in for dinner before a show and was delighted with both the seafood and the service. Many varieties of oysters to choose from. The Fish and Chips were incredible - a large portion of fish with a light and crispy batter - not to be missed. The Sea Bream was beautifully prepared, light and full of flavour - an... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
