We saw an average review for this place. My wife and I were staying close and wanted something a bit better than chicken or pizza , reluctantly we went in for a look and so glad we did. The young ladies looking after their guests...were great, the atmosphere was great, the Guinness was great, the music was great and the Bangers and Mash were fantastic, so much so we went back the next night for another very pleasant evening. I have no problem giving this restaurant 10 out of 10 it was lovely.More

We are still left confused from our experience last night at the Tara Inn. We went for something to eat with our extended family of siblings and cousins. We were a group of 12 and my brother-in-law and niece went to use the washroom. While...we were being seated the manager (coward) sent the hostess to tell us that they couldn’t serve my brother-in-law and niece because they appeared very drunk. They said they were staggering and bumping into walls. We were all shocked since we had all been together for the last 6 hours at a memorial and knew they weren't drunk. The 2 managers came out to the patio and started being very disrespectful and calling my niece “blondie”. Then they said she vomited all over and made a huge mess in the bathroom getting it on the walls and the floor. We were all in complete shock when my niece and brother-in-law came back from the washroom looking completely fine and not drunk. My niece was shocked when they started yelling at her and telling her she had to leave and she had made a mess. They then showed her a picture of the toilet with a few pieces of something floating in it. We were appalled and disgusted that they actually went in the washroom after her to take photos and had nothing that showed any kind of big mess. It was particularly disturbing because she wasn’t sick or even drunk. We just left and it’s their loss of likely $300 or more revenue from our group. It was our first and obviously last visit to this horrible place and we are still shocked about the bizarre accusations. Even the hostess was apologizing because she knew it wasn’t true. One of the managers actually seemed drunk and was slurring her words and very confrontational when talking to us. After we left we drove a few Km’s down Kingston Rd to the Stone Cottage Pub and had a fantastic meal with great service. That’s what I would suggest everyone do - just keep on driving and forget the Tara Inn.More

Wings were a good size and cooked and seasoned perfectly. My son and husband are wing guys and thought they were great. The fresh cut fries were also very good as well as the onion rings which were battered and cooked fresh (not frozen ones...deep fried) Thursday night was a special rib night and the ribs were delicious, tender and sauced just right. So glad we came out and had a great home cooked meal.More

after 2 weeks touring and lots of fast food options it was a delight to find some real irish home style food in a very irish bar which we loved. Food so tasty that we returned next night and again great food from a very...good menu. Plenty of atmopsphere in the pub and no problem getting a table even with no reservation. Served a super pint of guinness and staff very friendly and chatty. Highly recommend visiting.More

This Irish pub/restaurant is an institution in the Cliffside area of Scarborough. Very spacious premises, nicely appointed and decorated; ample seating; extensive outdoor patio; fast and friendly service. Great and extensive menu; some wonderful bar food, especially the wings; reasonable prices. Extensive parking outside the...pub. A place to visit again.More

We came up to Scarborough Ontario to visit our daughter and son-in-law. Ask for we could go have a good meal and they suggested this restaurant. When we got there we were greeted and we were seated. We ordered our food and it was very...delicious. The shepherd's pie was out of this world, tasted the beef and kidney pie it was all so good and the open roast beef sandwich with fries was very delicious. The waitress was very friendly and very knowledgeable. Definitely recommend this place.More

The Tara Inn has very good attentive service and a good menu of pub food. They have good Irish and/or folk music on Sundays from 4 pm to 7 pm. There is some limited space available for dancing. Good atmosphere.

Visited Tara Inn for lunch. First time there. I understand now why it was empty. If wait staff had smiled even once or even pretended to be friendly it would have helped the experience. Service was acceptable, but made to feel we were a bother...coming in. The ‘Big Irish Breakfast’ that states you may even skip dinner after wasn’t enough food to feed a child. The black and white pudding together didn’t make up a mouthful. Guinness beef pie all pastry and gravy. 90 year old was going home after to get something to fill up on. Sheppard pie and chicken fingers were average to good. Prices typical for pub food. Not worth it though. First visit and last visit.More

I've been to Tara Inn many times and the food is always excellent, at very reasonable prices. I've not done "bar" or "entertainment" events here, but the lunch and dinner menus are always top notch. Parking is plentiful and free, and during patio season this...is THE place to be in the Kingston Road stretch. Another consistency is the rather poor service. We always wait a long time for things like refills, special requests (like a side of mayo), and the final bill. Wait staff can be seen standing and watching the TVs and talking amongst themselves. But it's the great food that keeps me coming back. There is a 4 ounce option (vs. 8 ounce) for a burger and the hand cut fries are truly awesome. They now offer deliver through skipthedishes.com and I hope to take advantage of that in the future as well.More

I waited for 30min to get my drinks ( 2 sodas) and 3 waters. The server then told us food would take at least 30-45min more. When we said ok we will just pay for the drink as it was already 9:45pm when we came...in and not getting food until after 11pm seemed crazy she made us wait another 10min to pay for the 2 pop that came to almost $10!! One of the worst service expierences I have came across. Here’s a quick tip.. when you waste and hour and 15min of someone’s life the least you could do is give them 3 free glasses of fountain pop. That 15 cents and a quick I’m sorry would have probably got you a $5 tip instead of a bad trip advisor review.More
