We finally tried Thai Princess for lunch, having been curious as to what it might be like. As Thai restaurants go (there is extensive choice in Toronto) it is slightly above average. But the value is excellent, as is the service. They have local beer on tap (Flying Monkeys, a favourite) and also do take-out. The usual mains, spring rolls,... More

Did not know what to expect - kind of tucked away. We went for an early dinner before a show (5:00 pm), and the place was empty (usually not a good sign, but we were hungry). Ordered fresh spring roll appetizer, I had Lemongrass Spicy Fried tofu, and my wife had Pad See Ew. Everything was DELICIOUS! our waiter was... More

My work site is located near by and I travel from the USA and stay in a hotel near by - so I find myself coming here 2 or 3 times a week sometimes alone or something with work mates! Either way lunch or dinner - the food is fabulous!

This was our second choice for the night and it turned out to be a very good one. The main waiter turned out to have a splendidly sense of humour and warmly welcomed all 9 of us in. They served our drinks and got only one order wrong - which they promptly rectified. The food portions were very generous and... More

We came here for dinner after finding out that the new Khao San Road wasn't open for business yet. I was a bit skeptical since KSR is probably my favorite Thai restaurant in the city however Thai Princess didn't disappoint. It wasn't KSR level but it wasn't too far behind. We came on a Thursday evening around 5:30pm and it... More

Quite a nice little Thai restaurant Reasonably priced Drinks OK as well The only issue we had was with the stickey rice, it gas obviously been microwaved and a little to much making it very stuck together. In the UK most Oriental / Asian restaurants offer a set meal which we find good value and also a good way to... More

Doesn't look like much from the outside but lovely inside, warm and welcoming. Staff were polite and service was excellent. Food was a surprise, both the number of dishes offered and the quality. Delicious! Mango dacquiris were excellent! Nice to see a small independent business making it from hard work and excellent quality.

We dropped in to the Thai Princess Restaurant for a quick light lunch and were treated to a mini feast of delightful good. The chicken noodle soup was beautifully cooked and nourishing and the Choice A chicken satay with spring rolls was also excellent. That with a beer came to a very reasonable 25 CAD so I can recommend this... More

Portions are WAY too small and completely overpriced. Our $9 mango salad consisted of a handful of lettuce leaves tossed with a quarter of a mango julienned. Seriously. Flavour was good but NOT worth the price... Go to Pai or Sukhothai instead. Better service, better food and generous portions. You will not be disappointed.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
