There's a woman there, who may be a manager, that may make a possibly great establishment quite inadequate.

Ordered a $10 - 6 oz glass of wine, when the bill came they had charged $14 for it! When queried, the server said they were out of the wine we ordered so they had substituted the $14 wine. Understand why they call it the...CROOKED Cue!! The Philly Steak wrap had very little steak but lots of rice filling.More

Three of us went to the Crooked Cue for drinks and to play pool. We did not eat but the drinks were fine and the service was good and attentive.

This place could be soooooo much better if they cared about the food Excuses like ‘It’s pub fare’ do not work in this competitive restaurant environment! Maybe change the menu a bit, get buns that are not stale, little tweaks like that would work wonders...Great place for drinks and games, just don’t order any food! Not even fries! I mean it!More

We always sit at the bar and find it a wonderful experience talking with the bartender and trying new drinks, the food is pub food but very good and they have lots of pool tables if you like to go with a group of friends....I will say that it is a lot of steps up to the pub as they are on the second floor with a roof that opens in the nice weather, they say they have a service elevator but I do not know if customers can use it.More

Went with my guy friends on a Thurs night where there is a singer which when mixed with everyone elses conversation made the it difficult to hear. Retractable skylight is really neat. The waitress was good considering the crowd of people. Food was pub fare....My burger and fries were good the Greek salad OK. I tried a chicken wing it was cooked alright but nothing special. I think the main draw is the pool tables (not snooker) and the table tennis tables.More

My teen son and friend went to have lunch here on a Saturday. They were told that they couldn't enter as they didn't have an adult/guardian with them. They were very disappointed. Last summer my son and friend were to the Cue for lunch and...they had no problem getting in for lunch. We didn't think to call before sending them there. When I spoke to the manager, he said it was because they are a bar and no teens under 19 were allowed without an adult. I immediately called the Squire. They did not have a problem and my son and friend went there for lunch and to play pool. The Squire is a bar too!! However on further conversation with other parents, I now understand that it is because they had an incident with rowdy teens. The policy does not seem to be consistent and clear. It should also not depend on the staff there on the day. In addition, if you had one incident with rowdy teens, deal with the situation. It doesn't seem fair to paint all teens with the same stroke.More

Charging $25.00 per hour to play ping pong considering the huge charges for food and beverage is a crime. 8 Ball and table tennis should be gratis.More

Hello Minormisery, The Crooked Cue has been in business for 27 years now. I'm guessing that you would know from the name that we are a Billiard hall. All Billiard halls charge for pool as it takes up a majority of our floor space. We...More

We live in the area and drop in quite frequently to meet with friends or have larger birthday parties. Sam has done a great job in renovating the space and making it open and airy with the retractable roofs and sliding glass front windows. The...place looks great and is very inviting. Unfortunately the food quality has not improved as many of the reviewers here have mentioned. Although the staff has repeatedly said they know the food is sub par and that they are bringing in a new chef that can work with a small kitchen, big groups, parties, etc, etc. but the food quality has not improved over the past 2 years-the burgers, chicken, lamb are always overcooked and dry and the flavours are lack lustre. The price of the wine and beer have gone up since the renovations, but he food quality doesn't support the overall atmosphere and alcohol pricing. In many cases now, many of our friends suggest we go out for dinner elsewhere in the neighborhood as almost all the restaurants in the Kingsway serve better food than at the Cue and then we sometimes head to the Cue for a casual drink afterwards. It would be a lot more convenient and better for everyone if the Crooked Cue improved what came out of the kitchen as opposed to very basic pub/large group party food that is not a match to the quality of the new renovations. The atmosphere of the place is great, please improve the food quality!More

The last time I was at the Crooekd Cue was pre-renovations, perhaps 2+ years ago. Despite being dark and a little bit of a hole in the wall, the menu was expansive and it was delicious. The renovations opened up the space beautifully and nothing...compares to having a cold beer with the roof open under string lights. There are also plenty of pool tables in both sections, which makes getting a table easy. A group of friends and I were served drinks promptly and the waitress was kind. However once the food came by, she did not ask us if we needed anything else/if the food was to our liking. The menu is small and the food itself was much, much smaller in terms of portion size compared to pre-renovations. The player's platter, for example, has a disappointing amount of whatever it is that you ordered (there was far too little calamari for a platter). Mains: My rigatoni was delicious and the pizzas were generously sized. According to friends, their burgers (always made "well done" according to their menu) were dry. Considering we were out on a Saturday night, it was not busy. Getting a pool table was very easy and the prices are reasonable ($20/hour per table). They charge by the minute so you only pay for as long as you play. Overall, would return again at least for the pool.More

The renovations have really improved this place, the decor is very upscale compared to years ago. retractable roofs make it seem like patio and the fireplaces are amazing. The beer selction is improved with some local craft selections. unfortunately the menu is more generic than...i'd like, what you'd expect in a pool hall and not really upgraded like the rest of the place. decent but its basically bar food, nothign really fresh or interesting. still a great spot to catch a drink with some friends.More
