We went there not so much for the food but for the entertainment. My friend had not seen belly dancing and wanted to see that while having a three-course-meal. So, she got it and really enjoyed too.
The food was good, and there was a lot of it. Service was excellent. Belly dancer was sexy and friendly and entertained one from each table.
What was not so good? Respecting our reservations. We had made reservations well ahead of time for the 7 p.m. show at the Sultan’s tent. But someone had sent us messages saying we had reserved to eat a la carte in the cafe area rather than the tent and our reservation was at 8.30. This was a total misrepresentation of our reservation.
I had to call the restaurant from the US to correct it. Then too, they said we had to be there at 6.30 p.m although their website had mentioned nothing of the sort. So, someone there sometime has to correct these unprofessional activities.
We had a good time, but I must admit that this dinner show pales compared to what I had experienced in Washington D.C in a Moroccan restaurant.

Great meal. Group of 7. We were not allowed in the main part of the restaurant unless we wanted the $75 per person menu so we stayed in the front part which isn't nearly as nice. That was disappointing and the main reason we gave 4 stars instead of 5 stars. Back was empty so there was no reason to not allow us in the nice part, especially since we left long before entertainment started.
Service was great. Food was great. Mocktails for kids were good. Dessert was delicious.

I booked my birthday for a party of 8 at The Sultan's Tent, feeling reasonably confident, even excited, after reading the reviews and seeing the pictures posted.
After being greeted warmly by the hostess, Angela, and led to our table, things started gong south fast. If is wasn't for the excellent skillset and warmth of the manager, Mamun, I would have left. I had studied the menu at length for the $65/person prix fixe menu, which up to that point I was clearly led to believe included an extensive range of Moroccan dishes, such as beet fusion salad, the fabled Chicken Bastilla, the pomegranate-glazed rack of lamb, etc., etc., etc,. (from the menu posted on their website) until I was presented with a Summerlicious menu that essentially had 5 uninspired entree options: braised lam shank, primavera or chicken tagines, samak (salmon) chermoula and a beef stew. My guests (who were promised a wide range of apps and entrees) and I stared at the stark menu in disbelief, especially given that after more than $700.00 for 7 adults and 1 child who had chicken fingers and fries, we essentially had the cheapest possible options that were pulled from their regular menu and repackaged as a Summerlicious menu. When I confronted the manager for being so misled, he apologized and really tried to make the best of a bad situation. Oh, and did I mention an automatic 18% tip for parties of 8 or above! In case I missed something, when I got home, I went again on their website and there was NOT ONE reference to the REAL menu being served for Summerlicious, so you would 100% be left with the impression that you will dine from the regular menu (even their a la carte menu didn't have the food options advertised). I checked the menu attached to my opentable electronic confirmation for the prix fixe menu, and it was the same as their regular menu (NOT the Summerlicious menu). I mean I could have taken everyone to The Keg, were I would happily justified that bill, but for a bowl of couscous mixed with some pieces of beef, this is a complete scam!!!!!
Be warned: the Summerlicious Prix Fixe Menu" is extremely limited and does not reflect what is posted on their website!
Other than the Manager, Mamun, the entertaining and engaging belly dancers made up for my disappointing birthday experience, albeit a short performance and only one show for the evening. Oh, also there is no traditional drummer fyi.
The website presents as a unique place you'd bring family and friends for a special occasion, but it is very disappointing and left me with the feeling I was misled.

Not the greatest experience, wouldn’t recommend it.
I asked for couscous with my salmon and they brought me mashed potatoes. By the time they brought me a fresh plate, my husband’s food went cold. I asked for cutlery because they took it away with my mashed potatoes, he rolled his eyes. The food was mediocre at best. Nothing special.
Definitely been to better places with better food and better service. Not worth the money.

The Sultan’s Tent has a nice ambiance and the service was friendly and professional. It would be a great place for a date. The only problem for me is that I am Moroccan and was disappointed that the recipes were not authentic. We have a specific cuisine and spices and this was more of a Middle Eastern Arabic, European and Indian fusion. The bread was not Moroccan bread.the French fries have Indian Flavour.
The tagine was served over rice or couscous- which is something we never do. The flavours were tasty but not Moroccan. To add to this, they were playing Egyptian music and offering a belly dance show. I think it’s great to have an Arabic fusion restaurant, but why not call it that instead of calling it a Moroccan restaurant?

we were looking for a new place to try out and Moroccan food sounded good so we decided to try it out. overall good food and nice ambiance but it was more moroccan-inspired versus moroccan food.
we started off with the hummus with cake with fried, homemade bread; the hummus was decent and the bread really good. we then got the veggie tangine, the seafood tangine and the braise lamb shanks. my friend wanted the lamb tangine but that was not available and having that information prior would’ve been helpful. the food, flavor and portion size of each dish was really good. the couscous on both of the tangine absorbed the flavors well and the lamb shank was cooked nicely.
overall good moroccan-inspired food in a nice ambiance with good customer service

Went with extended family to celebrate a 50th birthday here and it did not disappoint. Our waiter was excellent, very attentive and engaging. The manager came around to the table a few times during the evening and he was very welcoming. The atmosphere was fun and the bell dancers were very entertaining. The food was excellent. I would highly recommend the maftoul for appetizer - it was creamy and yet the pastry was crispy at the same time. One of the best apps I've ever had. All of the entrees were generous sizes and were well prepared. We were looking for something different to try for a dinner out and we were very happy with our choice!

Was looking for a fun spot for dinner near our hotel. Chose the Sultans Tent for the food and belly dancing show. Arrived with my husband, daughter, 2 sons and their friend. Really fun atmosphere, relaxing music and decor. The service was excellent. My husband who rarely comments has mentioned this dinner 10 times over the last 24 hours, raving about the food, service and how much fun we had. We will defintely be back..try it!

We chose to come here on a cold evening, looking forward to harira soup. We were disappointed by the thin broth and lack of flavour. The lamb shank was nice, but the vegetables that came with it in the freekah were practically raw, instead of infused with savoury flavours of Morocco. The baklava was tough, not delicate. And the staff were hovering around us too much, interrupting our conversations and snatching dishes from us before we'd finished our last bites. Please wait until everyone at the table has finished that course before clearing while others are still eating. And if you see that the guests are in mid-conversation, don't hover and interrupt. Just go about your work until you see the guests are amenable to it. It seemed like we had every staff member waiting on us, and it was just too much forced attention that disrupted our visiting.

The restaurant is perfectly decorated with Middle Eastern theme, the tented area is very nice and intimate.
The service is another great aspect of the place, the servers and hostess make you feel comfortable and at home from the very beginning.
I loved the prix fix menu, it offers many options from which we got to choose appetizers, entrees and desserts. Very complete to all tastes.
I strongly recommend it, the whole experience was amazing, plus the belly dancing show was great, very beautiful to watch.

We just had the best dinner at Sultans Tent! They have truly re-defined the saying “Dinner and a Show”. We began the night with the most amazing waitress we have ever had Abigail! She gave us fantastic dinner recommendations, she was beyond friendly and attentive our glasses were never empty. She took service and hospitality to the next level! Continuing on with the fantastic service we had Domenic help us out as well with a beautiful tea service! He was super friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we were okay! Manager Mamun was fantastic from the moment we walked in the door! Super welcoming and friendly! The Sultan’s tent truly has a fantastic team and that is reflected in the experience you receive! The manager Medhat came around and checked on every table as well throughout the experience to ensure we were okay. You really feel warm and welcoming.
The food was amazing! Some must-tries are The Frites! So delicious! The beef short ribs! The pita with hummus and basically the entire menu! The drinks were amazing! We had the Hawaiian martini 10/10!
If you are ever on Front Street this is your next stop for amazing food and an amazing show! There was a fantastic belly dancer who made our evening fantastic! You can go up and dance with her on stage! It was so much fun.
Sultan's tent is more than a dinner it is an experience! Thank you to the wonderful staff who made us have the most memorable night of the summer! Can’t wait to see you all soon!

I hate to start off a review with this, but, having been to Morocco (sounds like bragging), I was excited to visit this restaurant and revisit the cuisine, and enjoy some professional belly dancers.
The dancers were fine. The food however was mostly tasteless to average. The ambiance is nice, but I think it is hiding the fact that this is mostly a touristy kind of place with bells and whistles meant to detract you from the food quality. Service was good.

My visiting friend Steeve from Vancouver invited me for dinner to this place that I knew of but never visited. He made reservations for 7:30pm for his host and also visiting mother from Quebec. We were welcome in this large establishment with a beautiful decor and sat at a very large table. Many diners all around us. Tamara was our server. She suggested a fancy non alcoholic for Gisèle and Steeve ordered the wine Château Puyfromage. You shared crab cakes with Gisèle, very tasty.
For my main course I ordered the lamb shank, a big portion that I truly enjoyed. My friends also enjoyed their mains. Steeve ordered the baklava and made it disappear. There was a belly dancer performance which was very entertaining and she got Gisèle to do a bit of dancing too.
Very enjoyable dinner with great service!

Terrible food, lacked taste or quality. I am a big fan of Moroccan food and this was the worst Moroccan food I've ever eaten. On the positive side, the ambiance of the restaurant is quite nice, service was also very good. But it's hard to give any more than 2 stars for a very over priced restaurant that serves awfully tasteless food.
