This restaurant use to be the place to go for a good steak at a good price. But lately the food quality has gone down and no one is happy to be there working.

This place is always exactly what I expect; standard diner fare, reasonable price, and family friendly. The pork chops are good. Breakfast offs plentiful. My kid loves the pancakes. Nothing fancy here.

I've been here before but never had to get up and go to another place for waiting so long to get a menu . The foods good not like it was before new owners. Not like we all remember it hot food. Steaks, hot hamburgers chopped steak , liver soups salads sandwiches more normal fair to regular restaurants. Was know... More

That title was clearly for the Canadians LOL! But Guy Fieri's DDD show needs to come check this diner out ASAP! Everyone in the neighbourhood loves it and people from neighbouring suburbs endure the Toronto traffic for this place. Its also down the street from Ash Bridge's Bay beach, so a nice summer thing to do. They have daily specials... More

I had the lunch special, Philly sandwich and it was so good. I also recommend getting the gravy on the fries but make sure you like pepper before you get either the sandwich or gravy. Will go back when in the area.

This place is a bit of a hidden gem. Not much to look at, I would have never even considered it until it was recommended by a friend. We went in and my expectation weren't lifted at all by the decor either. However, the staff was wonderfully friendly and the food was simple, really good and the prices were tremendously... More

A Toronto (Queen St) institution. MASSIVE servings, great VALUE and good service. Nothing fancy. Love the specials - especially the cabbage rolls but it's all like home cooking. Be prepared for LOTS of food!

Many years ago, friends from work used to come here after a good workout. Back then, the place was gritty with tape on the seats etc. You could get a 24 oz porter house, with bread pre-bujttered like icing on a cake, sautéed mushrooms that all combined for a meal that was excessive but cheap and good. Service was also... More

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
