We got invited here by my wife's new boss as a welcome for our relocation. Personally I am a meat man and do not frequent Italian restaurants but this one is different. From the warm and friendly welcome, great service and seriously good food. I has the special of the night, Rabbit & Veggies and it was simply amazing. The... More

My husband and I were there for the first time on Saturday. It's a very nice place a little small but the service is great our waiter Victor was friendly and very attentive. The manager Vince is very friendly and and the place under control. The night we went we sat next to the guys from shark tank Kevin and... More

It was good for an Italian restaurant but I wouldn't say outstanding. Perhaps I'm spoilt as I live in England and visit Italy rather often, I did realise afterwards that I'm not the target audience here. The lights upstairs were way too dim to be able to see your food. The service was fantastic, good selection of wine and beer... More

I have chosen Sotto Sotto for my birthday dinners the past two years, including the most recent this past weekend. My family, including three 20+ age daughters, are very much into the food scene and eat out very often. They love this restaurant for the quality of food and we all appreciate the vast menu. There are many wonderful restaurants... More

This is a pricey but well worth it Italian restaurant. We took the suggestions of grilled fish which was delicately seasoned, very tasty and proportioned just right. One of our party enjoyed his veal piccata while the suggested cauliflower soup was excellent as was the seafood entrees. Overall a very good outing if pricy.

What a wonderful restaurant and such great great food - well prepared and presented. Really, not to be missed if you live in Toronto or visiting Toronto. Put it on yyour list and I bet you will always revisit this restaurant. It is sort of expensive, but you think about the bill on your first bite. Awesome, splendid, and unforgettable!... More

Sotto Sotto is an institution - beloved by celebrities, well heeled neighbourhood regulars, and the many film stars who descend on Toronto during the International Film Festival. The cuisine is sort of universal Italian : good selection of pastas, very good anti pasto choices, the usual mains and desserts. Fish and seafood are particularly good, and your safest choice. There... More

have not been in years but wanted something well known and somewhat iconic as a Toronto dining location and thought this would be ideal. The host was completely accommodating in taking a quick reservation and sat us down quickly for an early dinner, We ordered, got our drinks promptly but has to wait an exceptionally long time for main course... We were seated next to the open kitchen...right next to me were fish displayed on ice. It smelled as though we were walking through a fish market. We moved to the upper level where the tables are very close together..too close. The food was good but not great.

Love everything from the service to the food and to the desserts. We ordered seafood risotto, carbonara, Sausages, Italian beer and pecorino wine. Everything was perfect. Love the ambiance too!

Using only the freshest ingredients Sotto Sotto offers a considerable menu of simple classics and traditional creations. To start there is an abundance of wonderful salads and antipasti. Pastas are available as a second or main course dish. Main courses feature veal, beef, seafood and poultry and there are also "risotto for two" options. We also serve delicious gelati and desserts including homemade tiramisu made in the time honoured traditional style of the Rocca family.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
