Dined here frequently when we lived in Toronto (the Annex) and was always pleased with the experience. We would always order their steamed lobster with ginger and green onion which was a treat--seldom find it prepared as tasty anywhere else in our travels! Would definitely return when in GTO.

Food is very good - taste and quality. Portion sizes are good. Service is excellent, which is rare for this type of restaurant. I also know the food is good quality because I felt fine the next day which isn't always the case at some restaurants. This was my second time here and I think it is one of the best Chinese restaurants.

Wanted to celebrate the Lunar New Year with friends. The restaurant did not offer any special meals. The food appears to be overpriced for what you actually get. Easy to spend $100 on food for 2 or more people. I would rather go a couple of blocks to Chinatown and spend 1/2 that on the same meal. I do like the food, but not the mark up.

What a disappointing dinner for my family. We wanted to support local during the pandemic. We ordered their 2 lobster special. The lobsters had very little meat. And were rubbery. The meat in the Cantonese Chow Mein tasted of the freezer while the sauce had no flavour. The beef short ribs in pepper sauce were OK but just. The General Tao chicken was chewy and sweet. It lacked the spiciness it usually has. Overall, very very disappointing. Sad! Frustrating. Want to support local but not this!

My wife had high expectations at this restaurant.
Turned out just so so. Food is hot but lack flavours. Service is fine but not over the hump. Quality of seafoods and beef are as normal as it can get. So value for money is 3 out of 5.

I used to love this spot, but it’s not quite as good as it used to be. Service was excellent but the food was just ok. Lobster special was ok but not a lot of meat, spring rolls were greasy but the fried rice was ok. The quality of food used to be a lot better.

We tried the double lobsters with ginger and shallots, filet mignon with pepper sauce and steamed pickering. A tasty and very good value for money meal. The owners were friendly and service was great. Will definitely come here again the next time we are in Toronto.

This is got to be the worst restaurant we've ever dine in! The ginger and green onion lobster is dry and tasteless, fried rice is so oily, and the spicy squid has more of the colored chips than the squid itself. Service is also bad and to top it all, the waitress has the audacity to tell us that customers always gives 20% or more tip when we were paying the bill. In the end, we paid $93 worth of inedible food. Will not come back here for sure!!!!

We ordered fried black cod - it tasted off and cost $33 - not worth it. Do not recommend. The Schezuan chicken is too spicy and having paid $100 for a low quality meal we are not pleased.

The waiter helped our large family group in ordering enough food. We were delighted with their very good versions of pan-fried noodle and general tsao chicken. Dishes came fairly quickly for our hungry bunch, starting with hot corn soup to warm us after a few blocks walk in the chilly Toronto night.

Last month before we visited Toronto, a group of friends already visited the city and had gone twice to Wah Sing Restaurant which serves Chinese cuisine, Cantonese style.
Based on their high recommendation, on our last night in Toronto, out of our curiosity we wanted to find out what is so special about this restaurant.
Located at the heart of Baldwin Village at Downtown area, Wah Sing could easily be found because the street matched the village name, Baldwin and here many restaurants co-existed also.
This restaurant consisted of 2 floors and a basement. The dining room is decorated with very oriental fixtures and ornaments. It can accommodate more than 100 guests.
We ordered their signature dish, the Lobster special and three other dishes : Sauteed Chinese broccoli, Spicy soft shell crab and Fookin Style fried rice.
They were all very tasty, cooked nicely and well presented. Service was also quick and the waiters were all quite friendly. Most importantly, the price is fair and affordable. We have to admit, as our friends did, if we have the opportunity, we also want to visit this place twice !

Friends recommended this place. I have been to far superior places, one in particular at Spadina and Baldwin, for Sechwan style seafood and regular dishes. The lobsters were fine, though small for the price (two for about $45), already cut up (I prefer them halved or quartered at least so I can cut the parts I want). The other dishes were fine. They do give you 11 options for the type you want (ie ginger, curry, black bean, etc) which is ore than in most places, but I would rather have less choice and better food. No desserts except cookies. But they did have a red and a white wine which was appreciated. I don't think I will return.

In a word – appalling. I have been eating at Chinese restaurants in Toronto for over 25 years and, unequivocally, this is the very worst I have ever been subject to. Tonight’s special was ‘Breaded Shrimp.’ These were the mass produced, pre packaged variety, totally without favour – little wonder they provided a dish of poor quality sweet plum sauce – fish fingers would have been more appealing. The Young Chow Fired rice was cold – when I complained it was zapped and re-served – the quality was again exceedingly poor – it had the look and taste of rice that had been hanging around for several hours – in all probability from the lunch time trade. Given the wealth of Chinese restaurants in Toronto you do not need to sink to these levels - for good quality and fairly priced Chinese food try Asian Legend.
