Honestly, this one’s a hidden gem. Our group of 13 didn't know what to expect and we're not the easiest bunch to please. But as the food was served I heard my friends using words like heavenly. Il Ponte didn't stint on the ingredients just...because it was a Winterlicious menu. The pastas were homemade and perfectly seasoned; the Salt Spring mussels super fresh; and the scaloppini was the best I’ve had in decades. There’s a lovely view of the Queen St bridge over the Don Valley and the host/owner was welcoming and attentive without hovering or pressing drinks on us. Go!!More

For many years we have been attending Soulpepper Theatre in the Distillery District. We discovered Il Ponte quite by chance and now consider it our first choice when attending Soulpepper Theatre. The owner and staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. The food is delicious and...the restaurant is bright and airy. In summer it is very pleasant to dine al fresco on the patio. We have eaten at Il Ponte so many times that I can't recommend just one dish. Everything is delicious.More

This is a beautiful restaurant. There are Instagram-able photos ops everywhere you look. The people running this place are solid restaurant people with deep pedigrees and they hire FOH (front of house) well. but, I shook my head a couple of times when the food...was presented. Caesar salad was doused in some kind of rich and uninspired butter milk (i think) dressing. Not a hint of garlic or citrus or anything else. The herb crusted lamb chops were tasty but poorly trimmed and could have easily been described as shake & baked. Served with thin, thus over cooked asparagus and a few fingerling potatoes. CBBMore

This airy restaurant had a good choice of dishes. My friend ordered fro the Summerlicious menu and I ordered from the regular menu. The serving sizes for both our meals were large and the food delicious. The restaurant was not busy and we felt that...the service could have been improved - which is why I didn't give it an 'excellent' rating.More

Lets be honest, a good GF crust is hard to come by. But here you will find a delicious and healthy GF pizza. I've been celiac since 2004 and now that I know about Il Ponte's pizza we can stop looking. Plus the service, the...style, the ingredients of all the dishes will keep us coming back.More

The four of us walked over from a friend's condo. Nice bright atmosphere and very attentive servers. It got busy but did not feel rushed. I had the mixed fish grill and although it was delicious, the portions were not huge but the price was...rather high. They had good alcohol selections. The pizza was a better choice as it was very large and the price was good.More

My boyfriend and I live nearby and we would pass Il Ponte almost every day for over a year. We tried it for the first today today and we were delighted. There are lots of restaurants in this area, and Il Ponte is one that...did not disappoint. We will definitely be returning soon. The server (who was extremely lovely and personable) recommended the calamari, a pizza and pasta. We took her up on the calamari which we LOVED. Calamari is tricky...usually it's too squishy, too breaded, or overcooked. This was probably the best I've ever had. The calamari was big, it was a good size (enough for two people with a big apatite to share) and super tasty. They also served us warm bread to start as well with olives on the side, free of charge. Our pastas were awesome as well. I had the pesto, and my boyfriend had the spaghetti with olive oil, pepper, and cheese (I forgot the actual name but it was the first item on the menu). On top of all of this, the restaurant is beautiful. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants real Italian food and good sized portions!!More

We were a table of 5. All meals were fantastic. There were 3 homemade raviolis. I had the mushroom and leek, my husband the ricotta and chestnut. They were absolutely delicious. The purée of squash and sweet potato soup was a delight. Everyone at the...table enjoyed everything from start to finish. Excellent personalized service by the owner Giancarlo including a wine recommendation. Great modern decor. Comfortable environment. As well the restaurant is completely accessible, which is terrific as due to some severe knee problems I find myself temporarily in a wheelchair.More
