Went in for brunch the other day, but was told there was a wait.... gave them my name and came back twenty minutes later. Finally got a table, and ordered food, but our sandwich and french toast did not come for an hour..... not kidding, an entire hour for that. People who had come in after us were served before... I accidentally decided to stop in for a mid week lunch. I was not disappointed. It is a small quirky diner type restaurant. I really enjoyed the fried BBQ chicken sandwich and the soup of the day. The waitress was super friendly and very kind and helpful to an older couple who had lots of questions and requests. Will definitely... More

We found this option with apparently great reviews. The food wasn't impressive at all, microscopic steaks (please try to find them on the pic below), lots of butter and overall not a good meal. Slow service and long lines that gives you higher expectations than what reality offers....

This little gem is located in the beautiful neighbourhood of High Park, in west-end Toronto. When you arrive, prepare to enter into a time capsule; the new owners decided to keep the original booths and decor from the location's days as a Chinese restaurant - it's cozy and charming. I've been here three times, with friends and family - each... More

This is one of those long narrow Toronto restaurants that are a little cramped but quite cozy, at least when people remember to shut the door behind them on a cold January day. It's on Roncesvalles near High Park/Fermanagh and opens at noon. There were five of us for lunch: I'd actually advise no more than four people at a... More

We stopped in for brunch. Had read great reviews of the food. It did not disappoint. I had the BLT which was fantastic. My husband had the grilled cheese and it was awesome particularly with the house made chipotle ketchup. We also had the Caesars which were spicy and good. The reason for the 4 was the service which was... More

This place was absolutely epic. Seriously, absolutely epic. The frois gras literally melted in my mouth and the turkey burger was outstanding. We were down visiting and was recommended to go here and they nailed the recommendation perfectly. Do not hesitate whatsoever to visit here for a meal and go for the hospitality and the freakin awesome staff.

Having just immigrated from the states and on a mini vacation with the Mrs. We ventured to the Ace. Having viewed the restaurant on Triple D, we wanted to give it a try for ourselves. And... Well it is great. The greeting from the beginning to the food all the way through. Upon entering we were greeted and seated by... More

This place is very hip and I like the servers a lot. The food can be overly salty but it's not boring. Good choice of beer and wine.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
