We went here for valentines and they had a great special. 3 coarse meal deal was great. Lobster bisque for starters was amazing and both our entrees and well and dessert was fantastic. Great service on that night.

La Petite France has been on Bloor Street in the Kingsway area for several decades so has stood the test of time. It used to be quite an elegant place to dine. Now it is a little less elegant. White table clothes had a disposable paper overlay and the server was very casually dressed. The menu is heavily oriented to... More

Really good Sunday brunch. Went her on my first Sunday in Toronto, and ended up standing in line from brunch. It was worth it. The place was packed with guest enjoying their Sunday brunch, I had eggs Benedict (which seems to be a Toronto classic), they were excellent, the coffee sub-par (Canadians and coffee...), the juice was fresh and good.... Last night I thought I would give this place a try in spite of the mediocre reviews. When I entered a scowling middle age man waked over I smiled but he didn't return it. It was around half full. I said I'd like a table for one and he said that I couldn't have one because it is Winterlicious time... More

Went there recently, after a first visit about three years ago. Both times (different management?) my opinion was much the same. Lots of traditional dishes, which was great to see, and the food was good but not great. Suspect that others feel the same way as when we left the restaurant (before 9.00 on a Saturday evening) the place was... More

We visited Le Petit France recently, haven't been there since the new management took over a couple of years ago. The food is still great, the service attentive and prices very reasonable. A classic French bistro menu and yes, they have frog's legs!

Average French food - with basic service. Had the summer Pre fixed meal. A good value but seemed Pre made

We tried the Summerlicious dinner menu. The Pâté de Campagne was good, but lacked any accompanying toast to eat it with.Luckily the bread basket served the purpose. The Quiche Lorraine, on the other hand, was disappointingly mediocre. From the mains - the sautéed Veal Liver with caramelized onions was delicious- perfectly seasoned and cooked. The Stewed Chicken Leg with pepper, onion... More

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
