Dropped in on a drizzly Saturday without a reservation. It was jammed ( not very big), but the owner/manager assured us we'd only have 15 to 20 minute wait, including a family of 10 ahead of us. Most re-assuring that many of the patrons were of Italian descent. Sure enough, without the seated patrons being rushed, we were seated as... More

Pizza is missing taste and the intent of having upgrading their crust to healthy amounts to a cracker that tastes really bad. Toppings lacked flavour. It has lost its italian flavour. The appetizers were okay. Calamari fishy. Wine tripple LCBO costs. Sorry but really sad that it has left what it use to be. Perhaps it is quantitiy people go... More

Pizza Banfi has been home to Forest Hill Village since 1988. Banfi was named after a famous Italian actor Lino Banfi. Giovanni Turano, known to all as Nino, was born in Genova, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1982. His origin is reflected in the menu offering food from the North and South of Italy. Octupus Carpaccio had me entralled.... More

Every time I come to Toronto, I make sure we visit this restaurant. It is very small but comfortable. They make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door. Food is wonderful, especially the pizza. The pasta is delicious and the choices on the menu are plentiful. If you get a chance to visit here, don't be... More

Everyone knows that Banfi makes great pizza and fresh fish, but tonight I loved my T-bone steak. Prepared perfectly and served with a bit of balsamic reduction drizzle on top, it was amazing. My wife always enjoys the arugula pizza. The service was great as always. Go and enjoy!

Great ambiance, terrific service, best food ever. Good daily specials, tables a bit tight, parking you have to work at - all worth it!

This neighbourhood boite in Forest Hill serves good food generally, especially gourmet pizza. But they jam their tables so close together that, unless you are interested in hearing all your fellow diners' conversations, avoid going when it is full, which is many nights. We have been often and enjoyed it, but on a recent Saturday night found the whole experience... More

Banfi really is one of the hidden gems in this city. The fact that it is ranked 1500 in Toronto is a crime in itself. I recently had dinner here and this restaurant immediately vaulted to one of my top 5 favourite restaurants in the city. The food was excellent - good portions and hot. I had a pizza and... More

Not a touristy spot, mostly locals. Stays busy with loyal Forest Hill clientele. Moderately priced. Food is good to very good. Just enough to keep the repeat business. Ferrari's and Maserati's etc are routinely parked (badly) outside Most recent meal was again good. Usually a wait for a table and get the impression that the owner plays favourites with certain... Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
