Four of us had dinner there and we all had the "light" 5-course tasting menu without wine (we chose our own from a satisfactory wine list). At the end we were really full - we couldn't have had more. With cheese, dessert and amuse-bouche it was actually 7 courses. For 4 people 2 different dishes are always presented and you can swap with each other. The atmosphere is cozy and rightly praised. The service consists partly of quite young people who presented our dishes a little too quickly (and incomprehensibly). The dishes themselves were carefully and correctly made, but the twist that sticks in your memory with a real star cuisine was missing. All in all, my best restaurant experience in Toronto, but - as is unfortunately not the exception in Canada - too expensive!! For the same amount you can eat in Lyon at Mere Brazier or in Vienne in the Pyramide, real gastronomic temples that have rightly had their stars for years.

Chef Lorenzo and his staff create a unique dining experience. With the help of his team, Chef Lorenzo creates imaginative dishes that are both delicious and beautifully executed. Besides the exceptional food and service, the restaurant’s interior is beautiful and intimate creating the perfect atmosphere for dining.
Chef Lorenzo designs his menus focusing on seasonal availability and uses artisanal producers locally and from around the world.
Two of our party began with the tuna sashimi while two of us had the hamachi. Both dishes were artfully presented and delicious. Another course everyone loved was the foie gras
- so expertly prepared and again beautifully presented. One of the courses featured Bison which was the first time our party had tried it. I couldn’t believe how tender it was and so delicious. Besides being delicious, every course we had was so creative, beautifully presented and masterfully executed that we couldn’t pick just one course we liked more than the other. We loved them all.
Having the best staff is essential for diners to enjoy their dining experience and the staff at George are outstanding. We enjoyed the professionalism of our server, Enzo whose superb service made for a memorable dining experience. The Sommelier, Patrick did a fabulous job selecting the perfect wine to accompany each course. His extensive knowledge of wines combined with his descriptions of the various tasting notes contributed to our party having an interesting and enjoyable dining experience.
George Restaurant delivers a Michelin star experience.

Went with a couple of friends and was left very satisfied and happy.
Even though it is a high end restaurant the atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff is friendly, while still very professional.
We had a drink by the bar without them rushing us or pushing us to get seated. The mixologist knew what he was doing, My Old Fashioned was perfect.
After drinks we were taken to our table and the Maitre d' joined us to explain to us the different options of their tasting menu.
We chose the Ten-Course tasting with the Wine Pairing. EXCELLENT choice! The food was delicious and it is worth noting that each one of us got different dishes. That leaves the option open to visit again and try different dishes. As for the wine, even though we had some French and Italian wines they also surprised us with Israeli and Hungarian wines, which were very good and a perfect match to their dishes.
George has been open for 20 years and yet they keep being relevant by constantly renovating and reinventing themselves. I'll definitely be on the look for the next project of Chef Lorenzo Loseto.

We were looking forward to the experience but were disappointed. We called at 8:30PM and asked for the latest reservation they could offer. We were informed that the last seating was at 9. We were on our way back from the airport and we could not make it to the restaurant by 9. We thanked them and indicated we would try the restaurant at another time. 5 minutes later, someone called back and said that they talked to the manager and the manager said that they could accommodate 9:30. We arrived at 9:25 and the restaurant was empty. (perhaps 5 other tables). When our waiter came to the table he informed us that we could only order from the A la Carte menu. We both had the impression that he did not love the idea that he had a late seating. We explained that the reason we came to the restaurant was for the tasting menu and that we were not informed that we would only be able to order from the very limited menu. He he did not seem to care. We explained that we would likely have to find another place which resulted in the same level of apathy. He certainly did very little to make us feel welcome. We asked to speak to the manager who made excuses for the waiter and used expressions like "I am sorry you feel this way." This level of service was not what I would have expected and was a big disappointment. In the end, the manager indicated that we could order the tasting menu if we wanted to but we were not comfortable staying given the cold reception. I assume that this would have been the same manager that approved the 9:30 booking so it was not that comforting that he was making excuses for the waiter and only offering an apology for the way we felt. I will not be back.

Fabulous food and service - unlike many other restaurants that participate in the Summerlicious/Winterlicious program. The meal began with an 'amuse bouche' and went from strength to strength, taking my food allergies into consideration. There was a small mix-up when for a few minutes, we had food but no cutlery, and as a result we were comped a bottle of Prosecco! We were amazed by such service and very appreciative.

George is one of our favourite restaurants , and we’re always back for great food. On Friday night last, we had great appetizers. I had avocado and grapefruit from their vegetarian selection that was a beautifully composed dish of flavours and tastes. My husband had the tuna that was wrapped and served rare of course. Our guests followed our leads and we were all really impressed by the colourful combinations of textures..
However, my halibut and again, one of our guests, both considered our fish overcooked- maybe by only a few minutes but overdone. The restaurant was not busy so an overwhelming number of orders was not the culprit. As well, the offerings have been really pared back so really, the chefs should have offered perfection. The mushrooms and pasta in the dish were delicious . Others felt their waygu was great and no complaints.
Deserts were excellent with a pistachio mousse and a really really chocolatey desert. Our wine suggested by the server was great too.

George is a wonderful restaurant to experience fine dining in Toronto. We have been here twice, both times to celebrate a special birthday. We always choose the tasting menu(5 course) which is a blind tasting menu. They offer a 7 and 10 course as well but 5 courses is a lot of food in my opinion. If coming with 4 people, 2 will get the same meal and 2 a different meal. We love tasting each others dishes. Every single dish is pretty spectacular. The service is always top notch and the cocktails ...don't get me started on the cocktails...so creative and delicious!

A three-course dinner for two with two glasses of wine each was almost $500. The food ranged between very good and average. We also made a reservation for the courtyard and were surprised when we were led through a maze of hallways to the secondary patio, with a less desirable atmosphere. The service was also somewhat disorganized.

Chef Loseto’s philosophy is guided by using the highest quality of seasonal, natural and sustainable food. His passion and inspiration create beautifully prepared and exquisite cuisine. All 4 of us had the 7-course tasting menu and two of our party had the wine pairings. Every component that made up each dish we had married beautifully with everything on the plate. Each course was unique and beautifully presented—all of us loved every course. Each couple was presented two different dishes and thus by sharing we were able to enjoy 14 dishes. It was fun to be able to sample these additional dishes. Chef Loseto and his team have created an extraordinary dining experience.
Our Sommelier, Stephen who is also the General Manager contributed to making our dining at George an enjoyable one. We appreciated Stephen telling us about each of the wines that accompanied each course. His friendly personality and extensive knowledge of the wine and his willingness to share that knowledge made for a wonderful dining experience. We also want to thank Rob for his attentiveness to our table. His professional and friendly service was greatly appreciated.
Discover what a passionate, inspirational and creative Chef and his team have to offer and enjoy a memorable dining experience.

George is located on Queen St East, kind of a run down area, but once you enter it’s understated front doors you are in a warm inviting space. There’s a tasting menu or a la carte options. We had the tasting menu and it did not disappoint. Each dish was flavourful and creative, ranging from raw tuna to delicious pork belly. There are also wine pairings or you can order from their well stocked cellar. The bar can craft an excellent cocktail or mocktail for you. Service is friendly and first rate with smooth timing between dishes. Reservation recommended.

It's been some years since I came to this flagship Toronto restaurant but it's quality has not changed, except maybe it's even better if that's even possible. Each course is so expertly prepared that exploring the plate is half the fun--so many components! Each complimenting the other. Perfect duck, scallops in a carrot dashi and with such a pretty topping of micro herbs and edible flowers, it looked like high art. Halibut cooked to buttery perfection and a ribeye with amazing depth of beefy flavor. Potato pave, herb bundles wrapped in a thin slice of cucumber and with a buzz of chili oil . . . each bite an explosion! Meals are seldom this good as the chef keeps setting the standard for everyone else.

This is a magic place on the restaurant map of Toronto. There is no a single weak point at George. Elegant but not too poshy design, superb professional service and tasty and surprising menu. Our waiter Robert H was so professional that he deserves a gold medal for being a great salesman and … a somelier, as his knowledge about wines (and overall service itself) was outstanding.
Food was gorgeous. Starting from tasty amous bouche - which at this evening was at this evening a fantastic chipotle mayo based stuff, followed by duck with super tasty raspberry or (as my wife had a different choice) avocado creme brulee (!!!). Beef tenderloin as well as potato stuffed dumplings (called pierogi) were also excellent.
So don’t think to look for the other place than “George” for a tasty, elegant dinner when you are in Toronto

We ordered the 10 course tasting menu. Expecting top notch food, unfortunately we got disorganized plates, food cool at times, not fresh seafood and over seasoned dishes. A huge disappointment from an established restaurant in business for 20 years.

I went to George with my family a few months ago... When we arrived we were shown our seats and then had to wait 20 minutes for our waiter. We put in our drink orders and then had to wait 30 minutes for our drinks... every interaction with out waiter was terrible. He was rude, unenthusiastic, had little knowledge of the menu, took forever to do his job and in general was the worst waiter I've ever had (I get better service at a McDonalds). After a long wait, we got our meals but the waiter didn't pass along some of our dietary restrictions so we had to send back some of the tasting menu dishes. The food, as always, was very good. That being said, I can no longer say George is my favourite restaurant in Toronto simply because of the poor service which ruined our dinner and also made it hard to enjoy the food. Hope George can fix this, but I will be taking my money to one of the many other fine dining restaurants in Toronto from now on.
