We visited on our first wedding anniversary based on reviews on here. It started really well when we had a lovely cocktail and antipasto. Sadly our mains were brought out before we had finished so were taken back to the kitchen. When we got them back the food was dried out. Interestingly it took ages to get the bill.... Not... More

Always very happy to find good food, good service and a good atmosphere to meet. It is very clean and offers very confortable seats and chairs. The proximity to downtown is a plus and make this restaurant a fine place to meet clients.

I really enjoyed the relaxed but classy atmosphere at the Hot House. There was a nice variety of food on the menu, all at decent prices. Our server was very friendly and upbeat. My sister and I ordered pizza and pasta and were happy with both! Her favorite thing was the cheesy garlic bread.

We were group of 2 families that met on a weekend for dinner ala carte. A lively place with good atmosphere and live music that was not overbearing where we were seated. So we were able to make conversation. Kids meal margerita pizza was pretty large. Chicken Caesar Salad was okay and so was the Silician Gnocchi. I enjoyed the... More

We were there on Saturday and the good was very good. Smaller portions for the steak and lobster. I think a normal person would think it is too small but I had the fresh bread, a delicious Caesar salad and then the main. Our server Cathleen was awesome and kept a mindful eye on our table at all times. The... More

Impressed with the Wednesday dinner buffet. The pasta bar was excellent. All fresh ingredients, select from meat, veggies, noodles and sauces to custom make a plate of hot pasta. There was also a prime rib carving station, and several hot pastas (lasagna, cheese cappelletti), veggies, potatoes, a vegetarian pizza, and several salad options. The desserts were amazing, several cheesecakes, red... More

Visited Hot House with my family this past weekend. We had reservation for 10:30 and we were seated as soon as we arrived. We were told that we can have the table for 2 hours but at 12:00 while we were having the last of our conversations, we were asked to leave since we were not having foods anymore. I... More

We attended a large group event held on a late Saturday morning in early March. It could not have been nicer. Bright sunny windows, tables beautifully set and a space that was apart from the main eating area. Everything went so smoothly, Servers helped guests put their coats away and drinks were offered. When the time came tables were called... More

My wife and I reserved a table for two at 630pm on a saturday. We were seated as soon as we arrived and the service was good throughout the visit. Our food was very good and it wasn't long between apps and dinner which is very nice. I would definetly recommend giving this restaurant a try because their menu has... More

The Hot House Restaurant & Bar is one of the busiest restaurants in Toronto and the reason is clear... Great food. The Hot House offers spacious, colourfully decorated rooms and an upbeat atmosphere in addition to an eclectic menu to suit all tastes. From thin-crust gourmet pizzas to steaks, rack of lamb, Cajun shrimp, numerous pasta dishes, seasonal salads, and decadent desserts, this menu has it all, including an extensive vegetarian selection. The Hot House Restaurant & Bar also has an extensive selection of wines from around the world, as well as an impressive cocktail menu and a selection of offerings from Canadian microbreweries. The sun-drenched 150 seat patio at the Hot House is an excellent setting to sample some fine Italian wines, Canadian craft beers, or the one of the best mojitos and margaritas in the city. In addition to the patio and the eclectic menu, the Hot House also offers group menus and private areas ideal for birthdays, showers, office parties, meetings, or any other function.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
