Sam Woo is one of my favourite take out place. My husband and I call it our kitchen. The BBQ pork fried rice is the best. I also really like its spicy bean curd rice. Tried a few different noodle dishes and they are equally good. We haven't tried sit-down yet but it always looks so busy.

This is our family favourite- we often celebrate birthdays here. Best Singapore noodles in the city with just the right amount of curry and light-scorch flavour from a hot wok. The BBQ pork is flavourful and moist. Order it on rice to enjoy the sauce as well. Salty fried squid is lightly battered and deep-fried with lots of minced garlic.... More

The food here is great, comes on time, is so delicious. My family have been coming here for 20 years and continue to come for any special occasion.

My girlfriend was shocked that Sam woo is 5 inure walk for me and I had never tried it. She said noodles are lucky to have on your birthday so ordered the thick noodles with beef for my hubby's birthday. I was not that impressed as have had the noodles elsewhere and thought they were pretty much the same. Sam... More

I have eaten at this restaurant a number of times and thoroughly enjoyed each meal. They can be busy sometimes during the dinner hours, but the wait is worth it for good, tasteful food. The staff are friendly and attentive. They also offer bbq take-out, but if you wish to get a good selection you must go early, and for... More

We went there for the soup and Chicken Fried Rice. We ordered other Chicken related items. Great service. Took order, food came in a reasonable time. No long wait for food. Washrooms could be filled with more toilet paper by the way.

I've been going to Sam Woo since I was a child and to this day, it is my favourite Chinese restaurant. It is always busy, which you know is a good sign! Some of my favourite dishes include the Roast pork on rice, chow mein, deep fried squid and chicken fried rice. Very reasonably priced, clean restaurant. Never gone there... More

This place was great!!! It was our first stop after landing in Toronto. I admit I'm from Texas so that is why it garnered the 5 star review. We simply don't have places like Sam Woo in Dallas. Service was generally abrupt but that's to be expected, they were very busy when we arrived. The food however was excellent and... More

Lunch with a gang of friends (we used to regularly frequent in the 2000s working in the area). We had Garoupa in hot pot, snow peas tips with garlic, bbq pork and roast pork, Singapore noodles and Fukien Fried Rice and Squid with garlic. Good, a bit salty. Prices are up, portions are smaller.

We went on a late Saturday afternoon and managed to get a table without having to wait. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. The service was standard

Staying in Scarborough

Neighbourhood Profile
Situated astride Lake Ontario, Scarborough is a district heavily influenced by immigration. With a number of low-rent shopping and dining options making it a highly affordable part of town, and boasting one of Toronto's largest shopping malls, the otherwise green suburban neighborhood is a good place to go for bargains and discounts. It also draws in photographers. The spires, archways, and cavernous rooms of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Palace are filled with breathtaking art, architecture, and detailed reliefs – it’s like entering a different world, The ruins of columns and installation art at the Guild Inn makes a free-for-all exploration site, while the big-name draw for young photographers is the menagerie at the Toronto Zoo. While many visitors shirk Scarborough as too suburban, its houses are some of Toronto's most mystical and haunting architectural beauties. And for adventure lovers, it has river-rafting and some unique hiking trails.
