A quality experience with a selective menu (instead of many forms of limp pasta with cream sauce and chicken or multiple pizza as in many "Italian" restaurants in Toronto). Starters included crushed potatoes stuffed with onion and chees) and for another dish sauteed spinach. A...delightful listed salad with fennel was sold out and missed. Mains included rabbit (delicious), Risotto with Ossobucco and another with sausage. Various gnocchi were well received. Vegetarians and glutton free were accommodated, no problem. Location is fantastic in the Little Portugal part of old Toronto, the surrounding streets containing interesting hodgepodge of old small houses and Dundas Street is a vibrant place to be. Parking is limited in the area but doable if you don't mind a walk. Our host(ess) and owner, at least in part, was charming. Will go again.More

I ordered from here after seeing all the positive reviews and was disappointed. I had the Pizzoccheri pasta along with the mondeghilli and both were below average.

We visited Stelvio two years ago and loved it. Now in a new location, it offers more space (important during COVID era) without losing any rustic elegance. The Northern Italian fare is outstanding. It’s truffle season so we had some gratings on several dishes. Unique...wine list with Italian wines not found at LCBO. Gracious service. Highly recommended dining in Toronto.More

We have visited this restaurant several times in the past. My partner is Italian and from the region so enjoys the cuisine. On arriving and checking the menu I was completely blown away to see the cheapest bottle of white wine on the menu for...$90! $40-$50 is usually the entry point for wines in restaurants, sometimes less, but $90 for the cheapest?! $25 for a 5oz glass? Absolutely insane. Even Auberge du Pommier or Canoe aren’t charging these prices. I get that restaurants make a lot of their money from alcohol markups, but this was really off putting and I refuse to be ripped off. The portions are also now very small. I understand we are in difficult times and they have to make money and survive, but the combination of these things just feels exploitative at this point. This place is a pale imitation of what it once was and we came away feeling very disappointed. We won’t be back. There’s a lot of other restaurants more reasonably priced offering superior experiences to this.More

Nice atmosphere and our sever was very friendly and personable. I ordered tagliatelle ragu which was luke warm and dry. My wife had gnocchi with mushrooms and sausage. Also luke warm. For restaurant that was ranked so high on trip advisor. We were both disappointed

Food is very good and very Italian. The antipasto misto have great cheese and honey. Risotto is very similar to the real Milanese. I put 4 start only because we were sited sited bear the entrance and in a cold night so very time the...door was open was not nice.More

I booked a large group a month in advance. The prices seemed reasonable for a set price menu. The first irritation was the multiple calls ahead of time to reconfirm. Once is fine and expected but three times? Too much. I called to let them...know one person could not make it and was then somewhat surprised to learn that they were going to make us pay for the additional person regardless. This is not something I am used to either. The appetizers were very tasty, the mains were good but not overly flavourful. Dessert was fine too. What was disappointing was the cost of the wine and drinks. It was hard if not impossible to find a bottle of wine under $80. What I thought would be a reasonable night was not the case as the alcohol was extremely pricey. The atmosphere was lovely however and despite some of the issues I mention, we had a nice night.More

We really enjoyed the evening! The meatball appetizer was delicious, we also had the arancini which was very good but not the best I’ve had. At our table we had the Osso bucco, gnocchi, and 2 risotto dishes. All were excellent. I would definitely return...and highly recommend it.More

We read the reviews and wanted to visit this restaurant to celebrate a birthday. We were two couples who dined here on a Saturday night. We were warmly greeted and offered a choice of seating. When we arrived, there were a few couples in the...restaurant and by the time our appetizers arrived, the place was full. Drinks: For the table, we ordered a good bottle of wine, sparkling water and others ordered various drinks from the bar. Appetizers: For the table, we shared Sciatt, Arancine and the Montagne salad. Mains: We ordered Risotto alla Monzese, Gnocchi al pomodoro, Casoncelli all Bergamasca and Tagliatelli al funghi porcini. Dessert: Espresso, capuccino, budino and gelato. Some reviews have stated that some dishes were too salty. We didn't find this to be the case at all. All dishes were properly seasoned and absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and paced appropriately. We loved our experience and will be visiting Stelvio again soon.More

I wanted to visit Stelvio for almost a year now. Their instagram looks very good and the reviews on TA are more than excellent. I was really looking forward to this dinner and we decided to book stelvio for our anniversary dinner instead of going...to a fine dining restaurant. The other option was Don Alfonso but we decided to go with Stelvio for the reasons mentioned above. So its very hard for me to write a negative review for a restaurant I was rooting for for almost a year We went mid week and the restaurant was empty. There was only one other table next to us, 1 server, 1 manager and seems to be only 1 cook in the kitchen. We thought that's a good opportunity as the load will be minimal on the chef. The service however was very very very slow and that was all the good parts about the experience. Food was simple, mediocre and most of the dishes were bland. We ordered the risotto, Arenchini balls, carpaccio, ravioli and I can't remember any flavour from any of them. Its really disappointing. The quality is good but the flavours are absolutely lost in the cream and butter. Its Italian cuisine, its all about flavour. its not a complex technique based cuisine. Cmoon I read some comments about the price being high. When. I checked the menu before going, prices seemed ok but after the meal I now understand what they meant. The drinks are extremely overpriced for a restaurant being on the west end of dundas and the drinks menu is not that sophisticated for the prices they are charging. The food prices are also extremely overpriced when comparing price to quantity / quality ratio. The restaurant is pricing the menu in a category that they are not. There are many better Italian restaurants in town you should check before going to Stelvio. I certainly couldn't justify paying 180$ tips included for the above menu plus 2 nigronis We skipped dessert. We had enough surprises that evening and we went home and made our own tiramisuMore
