The service was quick, the food amazing. We were greeted by the owner the second we walked into the restaurant. He made us feel welcome

We hit this spot a few times a year and it always delivers: great food, service, ambiance and value. The menu is fairly small (a good thing!) and changes over time. They have a good value wine list that includes a white Pinot Noir from northern Italy. Try it! This trip I started with the Poutine du Canard (new to... More

I have been to Coquine several times: mostly for dinner and brunches and recently, had not been much impressed. Therefore, I expressed the reasons for which I was not impressed the last times we went to Coquine in a review on TA. In response to my review, Coquine management asked me to visit the restaurant once again, in an effort... More

For us, this bistro works because of the very good service, the not-bad food, the decor and the interesting music. It is a nice touch that management has placed a modest collection of coffee-table books spread out in the immediate entry area ledge. The wine list is good, not great, but at least the prices for it are not out-of-line with... My husband and I go for a date every three months and it is always delicious. The specials are fantastic but the regular menu items are to die for to. Great ambiance. Wonderful service.

Had our company holiday party at Coquine. Food was spectacular, service impeccable, atmosphere warm and cozy even though outside was brutal. Robbie, you run a first class restaurant. Has now become my favourite fine dining restaurant. Anyone going to a chain restaurant needs to go to Coquine. You'll likely pay less at Coquine and have a far superior meal.

A nice man lead us to the last tandem table in the balcony in the midday of a Friday. Two middle aged men of the world set across from us in white Tricot and shorts...academic and business men. We looked at their nice plate and overlistned to their itineraries over North America and Europe, their spouses jobs in the film... More

When I arrived a very nice man took me to my seat. The seating is tight and I don't enjoy being that close to other guests but anyhow I managed. The waiter was standoffish and didn't seem to care or have any interest in giving good service. He wasn't rude but really had no interest in his guests or in... More

Had a fabulous birthday dinner on Aug 23rd at La Coquine. The service was excellent, thank you Maria! They have a great selection of reasonably priced wines and the food was Amazing! The Pan Seared Rainbow Trout served with veggies & a potato chive croquette (loved the croquette) was cooked just right. The Bouillabaisse was to die for. The Côtelette... More

Enjoyed a meal with colleagues tonight - between us we tried the duck poutine, escargot, chicken, duo of lamb, penned and the creme brulé. We had a lovely meal with very professional service, and each dish was very high quality, worth the price! Absolutely no rush, we took about 2 hours for dinner and chatting, just what we were looking... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
