Toronto is inundated with Japanese restaurants, but some are far better than others. Although I have visited Mazz on Queen Street East only twice, I would place it among the top 15% Japanese restaurants in Toronto in terms of the quality of the food and...More

Our order for 4 people took over an hour to prepare. The soup and sashimi were both good. Sushi was ok. Teriyaki was not very good. It was not worth the exceptional wait.

Well received, pleasant service and great recommendations! Had the wakame salad, beef enoki mushroom roll (must try!), tako yaki, futomaki roll and one of their dragon rolls. Everything was quite tasty!

Supermarket maki with low quality fish, too ripe avocado, bring a knur for the lobster and else, nothing to compare with district bistrot was on same location.

I like walking this revamped Riverside neighbourhood, Queen Street East, east of the Don Valley Parkway. There are so many nice restaurants. Due to very good reviews on Tripadvisor and the fact I love Japanese food, I tried this place with my wife. I was...More

I was initially hesitant to eat here, because when we arrived, we were literally the only patrons in the restaurant. I am so glad we stayed! The sushi was delicious and the selection was great. The prices were very reasonable.

A girlfriend wanted Japanese food for her birthday so this restaurant came up when we did a search (we usually like to try different places unless it's a tradition). Great little neighbourhood that it's located in and free parking on the side streets after 6...More

No fuss, no nonsense - just a focus on the food which was uniformly of a very high standard. Charming hostess, to boot! Quiet on a Monday evening, which added to the appeal of having to fight one's way for a high calibre meal.

East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that
team up to make this district one of the most
multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT
community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or
night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its
thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more
relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection
of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets,

DISTRICT is a modern Japanese Bistro located in the heart of the trendy Riverside district of Toronto.

DISTRICT blends sleek and sexy design with modern and authentic Japanese cuisine.  The result is a tempting and tantalizing fusion of sophistication and flavour in an elegant yet intimate lounge like setting.

Located on Queen Street East, in the space formerly occupied by Woodgreen Fish & Chips, District is a sleek and modern addition to the up-and-coming Riverside /Leslieville neighbourhood.

Arguably the area’s first ever sophisticated sushi restaurant, DISTRICT is a place to socialize, to linger, to relax and to savour a fresh and flavourful dining experience.
