Well received, pleasant service and great recommendations! Had the wakame salad, beef enoki mushroom roll (must try!), tako yaki, futomaki roll and one of their dragon rolls. Everything was quite tasty!

Just visited here for the first time this week. It has been open for around 2 years. The waitress was super friendly and accommodating. (we asked if she could turn the music down just a notch which was immediately adjusted) We had the Agi Dashi tofu and then the spicy salmon and avocado/cucumber rolls. there was much more to try,... Supermarket maki with low quality fish, too ripe avocado, bring a knur for the lobster and else, nothing to compare with district bistrot was on same location.

I like walking this revamped Riverside neighbourhood, Queen Street East, east of the Don Valley Parkway. There are so many nice restaurants. Due to very good reviews on Tripadvisor and the fact I love Japanese food, I tried this place with my wife. I was surprised that the restaurant was not busy on a Friday Night. There were some customers... More

I was initially hesitant to eat here, because when we arrived, we were literally the only patrons in the restaurant. I am so glad we stayed! The sushi was delicious and the selection was great. The prices were very reasonable.

A girlfriend wanted Japanese food for her birthday so this restaurant came up when we did a search (we usually like to try different places unless it's a tradition). Great little neighbourhood that it's located in and free parking on the side streets after 6 pm. The restaurant is similar in size to other restaurants in the area but we... More

Tiny, Mazz Japanese Bistro, with it's 7 - 8 tables and bar has been open on Queen Street, east for better than a year now and it's established itself as one of the class eateries in the neighbourhood of Riverside. Try going early to mid-week; they have an excellent, sushi, dinner-for-two special for $39. The Queen streetcar stops right outside... More

No fuss, no nonsense - just a focus on the food which was uniformly of a very high standard. Charming hostess, to boot! Quiet on a Monday evening, which added to the appeal of having to fight one's way for a high calibre meal.

Trip advisor didn't fail us again despite walking into an empty restaurant, this place was amazing. We love the black cod miso at Nobu and noticed that they had it on the menu and it was equally as spectacular. The rolls were huge and delicious (Oishi) and the restaurant is quaint but has a nice atmosphere. Do not worry if... More

Walk through an elegant room to the patio oasis at the rear. Start with spaghetti sticks, very thin and tasty. Share sushi, edamame, yakatori, and the best cod in the city while sipping sake. Host Emily is as gracious as the décor. Enjoy!

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
