First time in East York - really nice part of TO. Great breakfast meal in the middle of the day. Plenty of coffee. Great-sized portions. Would highly recommend!

A reasonable place. Nothing special. Homely and prices adequate. No big regrets. Worth dropping by for breakfast and lunch especially I think.

It was very busy when my boyfriend and I went, we waited about 10 minutes and got say at a table that was being bussed while we were walking there, very tight space, my boyfriends chair had water on it so when he sat down he got angry, I thought oh dear, what am I getting myself into. But things... More

I've been coming here for years and the food and service is always great and at a great price. The staff barely turns over so it must be a good place to work, you can sense it in the service and familiarity. They have a few locations around town but I've always been a fan of the Danforth location.

I've had lunch here twice in the last month. I had the same thing both times, the Greek burger with coffee. The food was delicious, beautifully seasoned, the meat well cooked the veggies well sautéed, the fries crisp and piping hot. The service has always been cheerful and helpful. It was not busy today when I was there just before... More

We went here only because the Diner next door had a kitchen fire and was closed. So I thought how can they mess up simple breakfast? Well they did. The server forgot our fruit cocktail, they never offered any refills on coffee, and they had no maple syrup for our pancakes, which were from a mix.

This place is located right across the street from McCrapaloos (aka McDonakds) and has a much better selection than its competitor, and it's quick. My wife and I had twice the amount the food you would get at another fast food restaurant, and for a portion of the price too. This place is not a dive, it's clean, with good... More

I went there 2 times hoping the service would change to better but it is still the same. Breakfast is ok, nothing special.

This Sunset Grill, located next to the Coxwell subway stop is brighter and cleaner than the other location of the Sunset Grill. However, they serve the same cheap, unremarkable, greasy breakfast. I suppose there is only so much you can do with eggs. The accompanying French Fries which were substituted for the home fries, were tasteless. The coffee is bitter... More

Staying in East York

Neighbourhood Profile
East York
East York includes a portion of old, industrial Toronto. Densely populated but incredibly safe, it boasts some of the city's earliest gardens and gardening clubs, attracting green thumbs everywhere. The tranquility of the Don Valley River area, which is rich with Toronto's oldest and tallest forests, is supplemented by the large ensemble of authentic and refurbished Edwardian homes, giving parts of East York allure. The other draw is for foodies: lovers of Bangladeshi fare will find authentic restaurants and markets in the area, with raw spices and desserts. East York also represents a lot of Toronto's Serbian food culture, and recently, has had an outcropping of solid microbrewery stops. For families, the science center is a favored weekend stop.
