Don’t let this bar fool you, the staff are friendly and the food is great! This has become our spot to visit every time we travel to Toronto. I had the duo fish tacos and they were big and delicious. I highly recommend! We always...stop for a pitcher of sangria and it never disappoints!More

Great variety of food. 10$ pasta on wednesdays. The burgers are also very good and service is great.

highly recommend that anyone who's looking for a halfway decent meal or a timely drink served to avoid this place at all costs. If you dare to make the unfortunate decision to enter this absolute dumpster of a bar, get ready to be served by...sassy, inept waitresses who like to take their time to walk from table to table. Avoid this place at all costs if you're trying to have a good time.More

Brunch menu is superb and varied, something for everyone - eggs any style, sandwiches, vegetarian options, lasagna, and many potables (including draft and mimosas). The Banknote Bar has a very roomy pub-style atmosphere, with wooden decor and magnificently-placed, giant screens for sports (English football was...playing while we were there). Our server was super-efficient and so pleasant, making our party feel welcome on a cold, rainy winter afternoon. All this, and just a few steps away from the Factory theatre! Highly recommend, if looking for something right in the area. We would definitely return.More

I am from out of town but Banknote is one of my favorite spots to go when I visit as it is close, food is good and I normally like the atmosphere. I was absolutely appalled at the service my family received recently from a...waitress named Kayla. I have never been treated so rudely before and it was completely unfounded. I am in the customer service industry myself and was shocked at the ignorant way she spoke to us multiple times- she made us so uncomfortable we almost left half way through our meal. I would not be able to go here again if she was working which is very upsetting.More

Love Sundays at the banknote, lots of tvs, ice cold beer, great appetizers or meals. Enjoyable surroundings and especially if your team wins.

First time in Canada. Just flew in from a few days in Winnipeg where the hospitality was fantastic. Thought the experience at Banknote was going to tarnish my view of super friendly Canadians. Was seated promptly but took them over 15 minutes to ask for...our order (I ended up timing it on a stopwatch). Finally called someone over who mumbled something about how he was not our server but he’d take our order anyway. Ol’ mate comes back 10 minutes later and dumps our plate of poutine on the table unceremoniously and only brings over cutlery after being asked. No one offered us a refill of our beers and they even tried to take our unfinished beers from the table. Some sour faced waitress even scowled at my missus while she was walking down the stairs to the washroom. Asked for our cheque and took them over 5 minutes to bring that. Nearly walked out without paying it was that bad, however I persevered. Certainly didn’t get a tip. I’d suggest heading to the bar across the road where they play hockey on the TV instead of bloody soccer. Waste of time and money. Not conducive to the friendly Canadian persona. Rubbish service. Don’t bother.More

Called in here on way back from harbour.. Didn't eat but had a few pints of Sam Adams @ $8.50 a pint. Plenty of daily specials on boards. Toilets clean, friendly staff..

Service is very good, decent beer selection and the food is nothing to get excited about. Very large portions.

It's my go-to place on King West. Always friendly staff. Some good rotating food specials. Bar, main floor and a couple outdoor seating choices.
