This was my first time visiting Old School Restaurant, and it won't be my last. This was the first day the restaurant's patio was able to open during COVID in 2021. The limited brunch/patio menu looked delicious. John was there to greet us, and we...were seated quickly. John also was our server, and his knowledge of the menu and drink options were excellent. I wanted something spring-like, and he recommended margaritas. He listed off a variety of flavours, and I told him to bring me his choice. The margaritas were delicious. My food order, and I highly recommend it was the Notorious B-I-G Mac burger, cooked to perfection. Even the shoe-string fries were hot and crispy and well seasoned. John was outstanding from the beginning to the end and was part of my patio dining experience at Old School. Well done! Lewis M.More

Went for a celebratory brunch. Our family booked for a birthday brunch. The breakfast was delicious, huge portions. It’s a smallish place, but they have Perspex dividers and are doing their best to keep their guest safe. Our server was excellent and we will return.

Wonderful place right on Dundas. Large open patio to the side and all set up well for managing COVID. The beers are old school brands. 50, Black Label, etc. Breakfasts all day - they looked fabulous!

This is one of the top all day brunch spots in the city. The blueberry pancakes are amazing. The homemade shakes are decadent. We will surely be coming here again

I went to this place 2 times. Pre-Covid and during Covid when the patios were allowed to open. The food was good as usual although the service and the staff was less friendly in the second time. Prices are a bit high than your usual...brunch spotMore

Alright, Let’s get down to business. How did I come up with my Score? Ambience/Decor - the decor was good! The theme of the restaurant went well with the concept that I believe they were going for. The overall vibe from the entrance, the music...selection, the menu’s, seating arrangements. Yes. This was good. Food - well, I went with one of my friends who is vegan and so our feedback echos the same. The fries were enjoyable (over priced for the portion), my meal (mac and cheese) needed a bit more seasoning, I found myself using salt to bring the flavour up. However presentation was 👌🏾. Pictures don’t do it justice. For my friend, she got the Gnocchi and she was underwhelmed, even as a vegan. She didn’t finish it. I ordered a brownie and I wasn’t pleased with it because it was small, dry and cold. For the price- not pleased. Customer Service/Work Culture - this was good! Our server wasn’t hovering, was accessible, was knowledgeable when asked for suggestions (very key but often overlooked). He also didn’t seem stressed or unhappy to be at work (which is a huge consideration when judging work culture) Wifi - yes! Washroom - clean! Downstairs, I looked around for cameras in the stairwell but didn’t see any (concerning or maybe they were hidden well), but I was so appreciative that the washrooms were clean. Weren’t handicap accessible though. Parking - hard to find and when I did find it, it was paid parking. Pet peeve but what did I expect for where the restaurant was located. Overall Experience - was this black girl travel friendly? I would go back to try another menu option that caught my eye but I totally don’t think this restaurant is for Caribbean taste pallets. I would not recommend this restaurant but if a group of people wanted to go, i would attend. Get it? Lol. Thanks for the food!More

We ordered the classic blueberry pancakes and a strawberry smoothie. They were both amazing at the first taste. However, both of them were pretty sweet, so I'll recommend eat them with lots of water. Also, food preparation takes a bit time.

Terrible service. Waited for my food for over one hour and when it arrived everything was bland. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.More
