I was served very promptly that day , and I chatted to the Manager Scott...He and the 1 one waitress /bartender that was present there at approx. 530-6pm on Oct21. were very polite, super nice/super friendly, very accommodating and very professional. He gave me a...tour of the entire pub and told me all about the history of this pub! I was very very pleased, impressed and appreciative of how Clean, bright, spacious and inviting the entire place was, and very cool vintage interior decor! love the wall art and wall decor! Great overall atmosphere. Overall a very positive experience to be there to watch some sports and just relax there for a bit after work or at anytime, etc. i would 100% def recommend this place /pub to anyone that wants to be treated well and wants a good hearty meal and some cool drinks! A+ .. 10 - 10:) +Very friendly staffMore

Great little pub which seems to be an independent operation with its own unique character. My first visit but there were a few regulars even early on a Friday evening. Clean pub with pleasant, simple decor. Friendly and helpful staff. Reasonably priced beer. The Steak...Bites were great although a tad expensive at $16.00 for a small dish. Will return.More

As soon as our group of 6 entered the restaurant we smelled cleaning disinfectant. We were seated at the rear of the restaurant where the powerful smell of garbage wafted around us. We asked the host/waiter for another table and he gruffly shouted "OK, you...can come sit here". All the while, music (lunchtime) was blasting in the restaurant. We just left...never to return!More

Overpriced for pub food and terrible quality. Grilled chicken breast like rubber. Small portions for the price. One waitress for the entire pub.

I live nearby and always have a great experience at the Uptown Pub. The service is great and so is the atmosphere. But what I like most about this place is the quality of their food. Nothing ever tastes frozen or packaged. It also happens...to be home to the best steak sandwich I have ever eaten in my life. Would recommend without a doubt!More

My husband and I went there for lunch a few days ago (on a Friday) after a recommendation by a friend. The selection seemed fine, typical for a pub, I ordered a curry with rice and naan bread and my husband ordered a starter of...skewered shrimp. His was extremely tasty but my curry was awful! There was hardly any chicken in it and way too many vegetables (who has peas and carrots in a curry???!!). The rice was bland, sticky and cold. We also ordered a side order of what were supposed to be pub chips but, being from England, they were nothing of the sort, just French fries and not very good ones. I left there feeling very hungry! The service was good but there were some extremely noisy people at the bar who drowned out the TV (20 feet away) as well as any conversation we tried to had until they left. The pub was strangely dark and gloomy, yet very hot and humid (obviously no air conditioning and just a lonely fan on the corner of one wall which wasn't switched on despite it being around 22 degrees outside). All in all, very disappointed and won't be back. The only thing that makes this an 'average' rating was the waitress service.More

Today, May 10, 2017, I went for dinner with my family to the Uptown Pub House at around 7 pm. The place was dead. There was one table of four at the window near the front of the establishment and two other tables of two...persons each in the rear of the building. There was one person at the bar drinking a glass of white wine. There were nearly 20 empty tables. There were more staff in the establishment than clients. This was NOT the problem. My point is that I politely requested to watch the last game of a seven game series between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Washington Capitals with very low volume on ONE (1) of the TV's near my table so that I could enjoy a very important hockey game and was not permitted to do so. The manager said that it would interfere with the other patrons and their dinners. This was so absurd to me since my table was at least 25-30 feet away from the only other tables in the place that had anyone seated in them. Even if the TV was put on a very high volume, I highly doubt they would have even noticed. After ordering the food and finding out that they would not accommodate my request to watch and hear the hockey game even though the establishment was only about 5% full and BEARING IN MIND THAT THIS IS SUPPOSEDLY A "SPORTS" BAR, I was very upset. Further to my disbelief, the quality of the food was terrible. The bread used for the Club Sandwich was not fresh, the Nachos seemed straight out of the bag from the supermarket and the fries were burned and straight out of the freezer. Nothing was fresh and we ended up leaving most of the food behind. The server tried her best under the circumstances and I really don't blame her, but they lost a very good patron as I eat out every single night and live in the neighborhood. I did however, leave a very good tip ($63.61) for the waitress because I felt sorry for her since she was the only server in the premise while three manager / bar tenders yucked it up behind the bar doing absolutely nothing to assist her in managing the very few tables that they had and my measly request to watch my favorite sport. Very disappointed. Oh, by the way, the washrooms were filthy dirty and had a pungent odor and in need of some serious TLC. Really bad.More

It's offers a cosy atmosphere, relatively small pub, but definitely enjoyable... Nachos and chicken wings are good with beer, but ask for french fries; crispy and tasty! Variety of beers... Service is friendly and satisfaction oriented. There is live music on Friday nights along with...regular games showings ...More

The waiter had attitude problems and was very rude to me and my wife. While making the payment, he was peeping on to the screen to see how much tip I'm paying him! Unbelievable behaviour! When I reported this to the restaurant owner (yes, the...owner, not manager), he didn't bother taking any action at all! We were hurt by their behavior and will NEVER return again, ever. Period.More

Was with a group of teachers on October 13/16. Ordered a Smirnoff Green Apple - NO have. Then ordered a Radler - NO have cold but have UNCHILLED. Who wants a Radler UNCHILLED?! Told me they had Ricard's Red in a bottle; ordered it BUT...- NO have. Jeeeesh! Ordered the grill chicken sandwich. VERY little taste and the fries looked like they were refried or had been out in the sun too long. I know this may sound harsh, BUT that's what went down. Get it together.More

Visited with a working group for a get together. Our fare was preordered and consisted of sliders, 2 types of quesadillas, spring rolls, and another Asian type appetizer in phyllo pastry. The food was excellent and there was plenty of it. There was about 50...in our party and nobody left hungry. The sliders aren't the little ones from a package, they were about 3/4 the size of a regular hamburger. I ordered a deep fried Mars bar from the menu at $4.99 and got a bowl with the bar covered in chocolate sauce, one side was whipped cream and the other vanilla ice cream. AMAZING. The servers were very quick with food ordered off the menu and with bar services. The washrooms are in the basement and are very clean. The best part was it's accessible from the subway. At the Lawrence stop, follow the signs for Ranleigh Avenue. Once at street level just go around the corner to Yonge St., turn left and in 30 seconds you'll be there. You don't have to cross any streets once outside.More

Went this evening with a friend I was in town visiting. We had burgers and sweet potato fries. The bacon on the burger was great, bun not super fresh, burger was fine. Fries and aioli were good. The adjacent table was loud and that wasn't...pleasant... Acoustics made it really loud. Service was fine. Like I said, good, but not the best in the neighborhood! 😞More
