We have enjoyed Friendly Thai many times, usually for take out occasionally a dine in. Food is just great.

I don't understand what other reviewers have against the pad Thai. Not the best I've had but certainly not the worst!! The coconut soup and coconut rice were phenomenal, so I would definitely have to recommend anything coconut flavoured from this place. The spring rolls were average and skewers could have been accompanied with a more flavourful sauce instead of... More

Went for lunch today. Had Veggie Spring Rolls for $3.99 and Mango Chicken for $8.99 from the lunch menu (came with Hot & Sour soup and Jasmine rice). All were delicious and the chicken was a huge portion! Two of us shared a Satay Delight platter ($18.99), which was 8 mixed satays, Hot & Sour Soup, salad, stirfry veggies and... More

Worst pad thai I've ever had - I didn't even finish it beyond a few mouthfuls. Total waste of money. I have been searching so long for great thai food in the High Park area, I guess I'll have to keep looking because I'm never ordering from here again.

This place looks like it's been recently renovated, the decor is very modern and the seats were very comfortable. The hot and sour soup was delicious. I had the veggie pad Thai for my meals which was also delicious. The portions size was great for the lunch menu and my bill was less than $13 for soup, soda, and meal.... More

We always buy more than we need for our meal and take it home for left overs. Great food -- Pad Thai is a little weak, but I've liked everything else I've had there. Good service too. We'll keep going!

Great service and open late. The food tasted fresh made and there was no pressure to leave, even as it was nearing 10 pm on a Monday.

In the now hip and artsy junction neighbourhood, decided to have a quick bite. Amongst the many vegan, organic, craft etc etc restaurants -found The Friendly Thai. Nice clean place, lounge style seating, and no smell of stale food. Good so far. However the hostess was not "Friendly". No welcome, no smile. Not rude at the same time. Just not... More

I ordered Veggie Pad Thai and was less than impressed. The sauce was a heavy tomato base that I can only liken to canned tomato soup. Would not recommend.

There's a lot of great Thai Food in the west end (Simply Thai on Boor is our regular go-to) but this place mixes it up with some really interesting dishes. The Curry Pad Thai is something special and is my wife and I's go-to when we eat here. Ambiance could be better and some of their servers are a little... More

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
