Great winterlicious lunch experience at Mambo Lounge. Reminded me of our trip to Havana a few years back. Yucca Fries were great and I enjoyed the Black Bean soup.

If you love Cuba but can not spend as much time there as you would like, Mambo will help fill the void. Mambo hosts Cuban Carnivales once a month during the summer and periodically through the year. They do the whole roast pig, have Cuban...musicians, dancing girls and more... The food is much better than you will eat in Cuban hotels .... beautiful fresh tropical salad, appetizers and in addition to the roast pork you will also get congri ( rice & black beans ). Mambo has won awards for their mojitos... The hosts make you feel welcome...More

We needed a place to grab a quick dinner before a show in the area, so we wandered in to Mambo. At 730pm we were the only people in the place and I was a little worried. I was pleasantly surprised! I've never had "cuban...food" before and found Jamaican too spicy, so again, held my breath. Went with something safe, a "Cuban Sandwich"--Cuban bread, ham, roasted pork, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard in a pressed sandwich. I'm not a fan of Swiss so I had them skip that, but MAN was that a good sandwich. We also had yucca fries, which were amazing and my husband didn't realize they were even something other than potato. Generous mixed drinks, but a limited choice. I will return!More

The service at Mango Lounge was excellent. The owners treat everyone like family. They are are always paying attention to the patrons. The music and dancers are fantastic. Takes you back to Cuba. For a nice evening out, would highly recommend this restaurant.

Mambo Lounge in Danforth avenue and Broadview is excellent. We ordered tostones con carne, wich are medium ripe fried plantains holding shredded meat for starter with Estrella beer., than a delicious plate of ropa vieja or shredded meat, with congri, a Cuban rice with black...beans and tiny fried yuca, plus salad and an authentic Cuban sandwich. Dessert was creme brulle and a charming conversation with chef Andres and his wife. They have a Cuban party the last Saturday of every month with live music and dancers with food for only $30. I recommend this place.More

Great drinks. Efficient fast service. Quiet cute place. Ordered the carnival tapas (a mixture of different choices.) and shared it with my wife — everything was perfect. Thank you.

I visit Cuba 3 times annually and love their food. Not the resort food, but the food that my Cuban friends' parents and grandparents make when I visit. Mambo was a great discovery as they had Cuban cuisine that actually tasted like what my Cuban...friends make! I shared a few tapas with a friend and we both left full and more than content. I will definitely return to Mambo.More

I had the best food and most wonderful winterlicious experience at Mambo Lounge. Everything was excellent: food, service, ambience and the live music!!! My friend and I tried the steak and chicken and we absolutely loved it. Oh I forgot to mention their mojitos are...THE BEST mojitos I have had outside of Cuba. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic Cuban experience in Toronto. Love Mambo and will definitely go back. IMore

Winterlicious is a great opportunity for restaurants to showcase their best in order to get new customers to try their food. One would think service and food would be even better than normal, sadly this was not the case and this Cuban restaurant failed in...many ways. Lets go backward, being served a slice of Costco's Tuxedo cake for the authentic cuban chocolate mousse cake was icing on the cake so to speak. Great cake, I buy it all the time, but don't go for Cuban restaurants to experience it. The AAA NY striploin steak was 8 oz if that, very thin small and grisly. Three of us had that. The Tropical salad with fresh mango had many rotten leaves and canned mango. When we gave the waitress back the half eaten salad, she demanded we take back the fork, with the only spot to put it being the uncovered wood table top. That is not the sort of cleanliness that improves the flavour. Give us a bread plate or napkin to put it on please, or have table cloths. The soup of the day was black bean, nothing special with canned beans. We were one of three tables yet we had to ask for water refills all the time, and the time between each course was lengthy, not thinking that cutting Costco cake was a lengthy process. Our Havana Club creme brulee lacked any rum flavour. Taking home the chewy steak and cake slice, we were given two containers, and asking for a plastic bag seemed to be an insult. The regular menu looks far more exciting, but if this is the quality and detail they put into Winterlicious, why should I believe it would be improved. I actually thought the advertised live music on a Thursday nite would save the situation, but when we left at 9:45 PM the place was empty and quiet. I don't like writing negative reviews, but I hope management makes a few changes in the future.More

We went to Mambo with some friends who know the owners. We were very well treated , including complimentary drinks. Its a cozy little restaurant with a good vibe. There was live music by a talented singer, but given the size of the room the...music made conversation a little difficult. Prices are excellent ( although the ( very good ) Mojitos struck me as pricy). The food itself was serviceable , but lacked zest and a certain yo no sabe. I was going to have the lamb shank , but it was sold out ( surprising for a Saturday at 8 pm I would think), so defaulted to Steak a la Plancha. It was a large strip , good selection of vegetables and certainly serviceable but nothing to get excited over. My wife and are friends had the sharing platter. It was nicely presented and some of the components were very good ( shout out to Yuca Fries!) but the crab cakes were disappointing. Not a bad experience , but left somewhat disappointed. Una experienca aceptable pero podria haber sido major.More
