Was the second customer today, welcoming hosts. sat for 40 mins before the food came in and the place got crowded. Each dish is 12 bucks. Ethnic bread is called Injira, similar to Indian "dosa" - a damp bread made of fermented grains. The portion size is huge, enough for two. Along with that you have portions of lentils in... More

The food is great-delicious, fresh, super filling. I'm a big fan of Ethiopian food already but I wouldn't recommend this as a first-time place to try Ethiopian food. You have to be comfortable eating with your hands and sharing. You also have to be willing to wait a VERY long time for your food to get to the table. My... More

As you walk into the restaurant which is cozy and intimate you can almost feel like you're stepping into a mini forest. There are vine like "plants" everywhere . We though it was every fun and different and there was Ethiopian art on the walls. The food platers are definitely designed to be shared and super super filling and tasty.... More

You will likely wait at least 20 minutes - but it is so much worth it. If you are not familiar with the food, the waitress will help you pick. Just don't be in a rush.

I read from other reviews that it took awhile to get food as it is always made fresh. I ordered takout an hour in advance. When I arrived to get it they had not even started. It took another 45 minutes to get my food. If the food was amazing I would not have been as upset. The veggie platter... More

Its a small family run restaurant with a few tables. Feels smaller inside because of a ton of fake ivy hanging from the ceiling which makes it quite claustrophobic. The food however is the best Ethiopian I have eaten. However, they do not take reservations or answer the phone, its first come first serve basis. Line ups are long, and... More

Don't come here for the service or the ambience because those are both really bad. Don't come here to hungry because it can take forever to get your food and bill. Expect to spend over an hour here. If you're alright with that you're in for a real treat. The food is amazing and very affordable. It's one of my... More

This is a nice place, really worth the line up. Don't come hungry since you may have to wait a bit to get a table. The prices are more than reasonable and there is plenty to eat (and take home). The atmosphere is nice and intimate. The service is fast paced because of its success.

Our first trip through Toronto put us at odds with their closed on Tuesdays. We tried a different Ethiopian restaurant and thought it was just okay. Our return trip was perfect and made even more perfect by finding Nazareth open. We ordered the chicken plate and it was more food than 2 people could comfortably eat in one sitting. The... More

We had to wait about 30 mins to get in as it was Friday evening but the food was fantastic. We had the lamb and beef. The lamb was exceptional. It's a small restaurant with a good vibe. Servers were very friendly. Will certainly be returning.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
