I met a client for lunch at Bistro Grande as he is a very observant Jewish person. The restaurant was not fancy, but the food was very good and well prepared. The vegetarian barley soup was a great starter. The salmon burger was most and was very good. My friends trout was well prepared.

I had the salmon fillet and also sampled the pizza. Both were very good, and the service was polite and professional. It is, however, very expensive -- even for kosher food.

I dined at this beautiful restaurant twic within a week, first with friends, then with family. Both dining occassions were relaxing. The wait staff were attentive but not hovering, and the meals we ordered delicious, ample portions and most satisfying.

Have been going there since they first opened. Fresh food, prepared creatively. Good wine selection, good service, attentive manager, comfortable seating.

Very pleasant place for lunch. Nicely decorated and service is prompt and very friendly. Wonderful bread with hummus, butter and oil brought to your table. Large selection of choices to eat. We both had sandwiches which are only available for lunch. However, $18-20, with a small bit of mixed salad on the side is a bit pricey for lunch.

I've been here with work colleagues, friends and family visiting from out of town. My children say they have the best breaded white fish "in the entire world" so it's a reliable go-to place for a special birthday. I have to give a shout out to the wait staff - they are really thoughtful and helpful, so despite waiting over... More

I try to visit Bistro Grande whenever I am in Toronto. The last time I was there was in July, 2014. The staff was very warm, welcoming and professional. The restaurant’s ambiance is also very elegant and perfect for business meetings and family outings. Parking – I would not recommend parking on Eglinton Avenue. There are various restrictions due to... More

Excellent knowledgeable, efficient staff. Wonderful flavors. We sampled pizza, pasta, and salads. Even motzi shabbat all ingredients were as fresh as could be. Finish with the molten chocolate cake.

I try to visit Bistrogrande whenever I visit Toronto. Arthur and his team always welcome you warmly both food and service are top notch. I recently hosted a private dinner which was held in their small private meeting room. Meal started with a good selection of single malts and vodkas and service was prompt and not overbearing throughout.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
