House of Gourmet has been around in Chinatown Toronto for a very long time. They serve all the usuage noodles, congee, rice dishes. We had no problem getting a table for 10. Service was fast and the food is pretty good. We liked their daily soup and their roast duck. Great place for quick lunch

Amid mixed reviews of this busy eatery, my family and I have found it a good eatery. It's as Cantonese as one can get: noise, traffic, gourmet dishes, small dishes, and even fusion food (such as sandwiches, salads, curries, and dumplings) like all my favorite comfort food in Macao when I was a child. Yes, the place is a beast... More

This restaurant is an old stand by, centrally located in Chinatown, easy to find, lots of seating, reasonably priced. Noisy as heck when it is full, which is most of the time. The food depends on the chef of the day. Sometimes it is absolutely sublime, sometimes it tastes like someone threw a few ingredients into a pot and heated... More

First of all, when I entered the restaurant, I was gonna puke because of the smell of the restaurant. So I decided to take out but that was wrong. Both tray that I got stink af and I couldn't even stay in my room.

After shopping all day with my Japanese cousin she decided to take us down town for a lunch to "really really cheap restaurant with really really good authentic Asian cuisine". The place was a buzz with people coming in and out... We didn't wait too long after walking in off the street, the staff was fast and efficient and after... More

The restaurant was located in the China town at Dundas street where there were a great number of Chinese/Asian restaurants on offer. Take the subway to St. Patrick station and walk 10 minutes, or ride the light rail tram 505 from St. Patrick for 3 stops instead of walking. We had two visits to this one for quick lunch. the... We eat here whenever in Chinatown. The place is always busy with locals and you will hear more Mandarin than English. Do not come here with lots of questions about the menu or wanting lots of attention for the servers. The menus are huge and they will give you time to look them over but never offer much in the... This establishment was super busy at 1930 on a Saturday night with 90 per cent of diners being Chinese. We waited for a table for 20 minutes. The food was good but the one downside was that the tasty duck was served cold. I like it to be hot upon its arrival at the table. Staff were pleasant with maybe... More

We did a Peking Duck combo. Ordered the 4 dish which was enough food for 5 or 6. The three of us made a valiant effort! :-) The salted squid was tasty as was the duck with bean sprouts. Beef and broccoli was super tender and tasty. Price was good. We just ordered way too much food because we wanted... More

Visited Toronto for three days, and ate here twice, once for dinner and the other time for brunch. Service: Hit or miss. The service at dinner time was attentive, and the waitresses made good recommendations. The service at brunch time was a different story. The waitresses were pretty nonchalant, and weren't willing to give recommendations or answer questions. Cleanliness: Very... More
