We went just after 10pm so the full menu was not available. The bar menu was ok and varied. Fried mac & cheese with 3 meatballs $ 16.00. Flatbreads, 3 choices $ 15.00. Extra sauce for flatbreads $ 3 and just a wee drizzle, had to ask for more and received attitude from server. Food arrived luke warm and it... More

I recently went to have dinner with the family and the experience was a mix of good and bad. The hostess was very nice and accommodated us, a party of 7, without reservation. The place was busy as they had a full dining room and a private event at the same time. Our server was very friendly, and even though... More

We stopped in for dinner the other night and were delighted with the beautiful decor. It has a really wonderful, warm speakeasy feel. Very relaxing and inviting. I ordered the caveman slaw without the steak and my husband ordered the same but including the steak. It was delicious and full of healthy ingredients. It filled me up without the addition... More

Music was way too loud and annoying. They need to revamp their playlist especially for Sunday brunch! Difficult to carry on a conversation, we weren't the only customers annoyed by this! Cutlery was filthy and had to be sent back. The food was average at best including hair in one entree. They refunded the cost of the entree with the... More

All i have to say is Duck fat sweet fries. Tried multiple items: sliders, fish tacos, oysters, pulled pork grilled cheese. Was free for kids with adult meal for brunch. Went on a Thursday night with gal pals, husband took the kids on a Saturday.

Nice spot. Seems like Gastropub is the latest restaurant trend. Nice way of saying comfort food in my mind. The food was good, service a bit slow and unmindful, but not a huge deal in a very busy place. My wife had the Can O' Lamb as pictured. It was different as you can see, the cooked? warmed up? lamb... Was very pleasantly surprised at this gastropub with really good food, tolerable music level and very good service even though it was a Saturday night. The menu is varied and I can highly recommend the poutine as well as the perogies. We sat at the bar and while all the tables were full, it was still relatively quiet and one... More

Prohibition is a gastro pub in the east end of Toronto. Its well put together, has a good selecttion of screens for those needing some sports stimulus, comfortable seating / booths and an excellent selection of cold beers. The place also has tasty food, well above average for a pub, with the 2 dishes that stood out for our family... More

Very much enjoyed the experience - they have a pretty eclectic décor, with 80's music videos playing on the TVs. Service was excellent and attentive. The food was quite good - I had the fried chicken (which was slightly over-done), but the chicken was still moist inside. The sides were excellent - the corn and potatoes were fantastic. My wife... Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
