We’ve been to this restaurant a number of times in the past few years and it has been consistently excellent. They have a tremendous selection of beer and are renowned for duck fat fries. Between us we had the pork roast special, a flat bread...and a burger, all were really good. This is a really good spot. Clean, great service, good location.More

I think the best part of this place is the decor. Food was good, service was very slow considering we were the only patrons for the first 30 min of our visit. We don't mind, we are slow diners by nature, but even our drinks...took an awful long time. Waitress was new however and did a nice job overall. We went for a light meal before a 2pm show, so couldn't truly dive into what is a yummy and unique menu. We had salmon benedict and mushroom benedict; both good, the side salad is pretty boring. No mimosas here, but you can get a beer-mosa and it was delish. On a Saturday at 11 you don't need a reservation. I suspect though that like all places in this vicinity, it probably gets quite busy in the evenings. We were enjoying the wonderful overhead music, then noticed a theme - they were tipping their hat to Black History Month. Classy touch.More

We dropped in after a show & found that the Beer Bistro was part of Winterlicious, a 2-week period in which restaurants offer reasonably priced prix fixe menus. Since I'd hardly eaten all day, I decided on dinner: tasty squash soup, steak with endive &...fries, and a lovely, rich Eton Mess of meringue & raspberry compote. The beer was great & the service was excellent.More

Our first time at this bistro and we were not disappointed. Meeting with friends in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. There were six of us with various tastes and the food was good - decent portions and great presentation. Large selection of beers as one...would expect. Prices were reasonable however dessert was pricey in my opinion. Two things stand out: 1) The service from Alisha and her co-workers was exceptional, 2) we were not rushed out the door. I would like to return and check out the lunch menu.More

Pros: Nice environment, great selection of beers, varied menu, expert kitchen Cons: Understaffed This restaurant is exactly as it sounds, with emphasis on quality of the beer and the quality of the food. There are quite a few types of beers available, with an explanation...in the menu of what to expect from each type of beer (for the novice). A great place to try beer tasting. My colleague and I both had the mussels and fries which were absolutely fantastic. Beautifully prepared with an amazing bullion to flavour. I believe the fries are double cooked, making them soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Definitely worth trying. I would have given this restaurant a 5 as my colleague and I had an excellent meal, but unfortunately there was only 1 person on staff serving. She was friendly enough, but run off her feet, so service was slow.More

I found it ordinary. The stand out was the service. My burger with sautéd onions was terrible. Our table also had the sweet potato toast and seafood chowder and they were both said to be very good. Found pricing to be ok.

Walked in with no reservation. Could sit at the dine area or bar area. We sat at the bar area facing outside. Public transport line surely goes every 2 minutes; even made a running gag about it that it never moves because there always seems...to be a tram right outside. Anyways the staff was nice and checked up on us. Food was okay. Duck was tasty. Veggies tasty. The pasta with the mushrooms a bit off for the taste. The pairing beer for that dish was not available; though they had plenty of other tasty beers. Would come here again for beer, snacks and music; maybe not for dinner. Price was just over 100 for 2. Bit steep for the value to me.More
