We went for drinks and some appetizers and in hindsight we should have stayed with the beers. The place specializes in their own beers, which are very good. We had the calamari and the nachos and although the calamari was not too bad, the nachos were sub-par. Don't just pile on a lot of stuff and call it great. Just... More

We were on our way home from Europe and decided to take the train from Pearson. Usually check reviews but didn't this time as my last memory of Mill St Pub at T1 Pearson was great so assumed all locations would be just as good. What a disappointment to find a sub par environment along with even worse service. For... More

Beer was ok, the 8 different selections at Left Field brewery was way better if you are looking for really good beer, out of the way but so good. The calamari wad excellent pub grub. Do not get the schnapps, gross.

We went to the Mill St Pub on New Years afternoon after an event at the soulpepper theatre. We had the chicken chorizo pot pie with the kale Caesar salad. My husband and I agreed it was a fantastic choice. The salad was so unusual, yet extremely tasty. The pot pie was extraordinary!!! Our son had the angus burger which... More

Even though I had booked on-line, they did not have my reservation. However we were accommodated quite well, particularly with a child. The menu is limited but have some fun items, like pretzels and fondue. The service was OK. The orders were taken quickly, the drink service was slow and then all of the meal (apps and mains) came at... More

Refreshing environment with excellent food and beer. The staff are always friendly and most helpful. The bar is located in an area of shops, restaurants and events so do visit for some R&R.

We were trying to find a late night option for dinner and although these idiots were "open", (we arrived 30 minutes before their posted closing time!) we were treated HORRIBLY! They seated us and immediately started making excuses that it was "late" and the kitchen might not be serving the full menu. Also, the wines might be limited as well.... More

Great brew pub with many more known and less known brews from the Craft brewery. The tour is not the best (would skip it) but the food is quite good and the beer flights allows you to try varieties.

This place seemed to be very popular during my visit to the Christmas Market. The wait for a table was fairly short, however, I'm sure in the evening it would be much longer. The decor is light and friendly in this large restaurant, and even with a lot of people there the noise level was at a minimum. The menu... More

This was a convenient choice for food during while visiting the Toronto Christmas Market. And many others appeared to have the same idea. Thankfully they will take your name and phone number and text you when your table is ready. This way you don't have to sit around and wait. We were told the wait would be 1-1.5 hours but... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
