When my visiting friend Dimar from Vancouver asked for a place to go for coffee, I suggested to go to Eva’s first after watching a segment on Radio-Canada’s L’Épicerie about The Hungarian treat. We both chose the tiramisu fully loaded with calories. It sure is...a big size! Very enjoyable. I also met Karla in charge of marketing behind the counter and showed her the clip from the show. It was a great surprise to her and a coincidence as she is not on site that often. I also caught her outside afterwards doing her homework. A great place to discover!More

The chimney is a warm, cinnamon pastry filled with ice cream and other toppings. In my case, that included chocolate syrup and Oreo crumbles. Amazing! However, also very messy. Be prepared to eat quickly and grab a lot of napkins.

Vegan Ice Cream in a 'Chimney Cake'. SOLD I had never heard of a Kürtöskalács in Hungarian or Trdelník in Czech, but I am so glad I found it. They are basically breadish pastries rolled into a cone for the ice cream. Crunchy outside, soft...warm inside with delicious vegan ice cream inside. Complete bliss. The contrast between hot and cold took this dessert to another level. We got the Mango Sticky Rice and the Chocolate Almond Chimneys. The Mango Sticky rice is self explanatory, the texture of the rice is sooo good mixed in and you can never go wrong with mango. The Chocolate almond had me at chocolate, rich and utterly delicious. You have to experience this for yourself.More

Cakes baked as you wait on a spindle that creates a cone shape. Fillings from savoury to sweet you can take away or sit at the tables at the back. We had a selection of sweet. Tasty? Yes! However the real fun is in the...eating. The chocolate plug at the bottom of the cake helps hold it together but advise you to sit in it can be a bit messy. Total fun.More

You know what? These are really good. We shared the original and it's really good. I was also really impressed at their efficiency. The churn these things out quick. There were long lines and this one really moved fast. Glad we chose this one.

The service here on a Monday night was not great. They were very unfriendly and unhelpful. We got the small to split, and it seemed like they were bothered by our order. it tasted great, but not as good as the same style of cafe...that serves these chimney cakes we tried in Niagara-on-the-lake. I don't know if I would come back here.More

The Hungarian funnel cakes is a unique and authentic experience. You watch the cakes grilling on the skewers. The ice cream was soft serve with a vegan option. There are many combos of toppings to choose from. The funnel cake was tasty. Overall a good...dessert experience.More

Eva's serves rich ice cream with a number of toppings. It is the cones that are worth the trip. Each is individually wrapped per order. Hard to describe, but the cone is a strip of pastry that is wound around cylinder to form a cone....The cone is still warm when you get it. You have to try this. It is absolutely worth a trip across the city to get one. You will be telling everyone you know about the cones. Street parking is a challenge.More

Grab a chimney at the Christmas Market this year. I got the coconut/hazelnut and boyfriend got the cinnamon/ hazelnut. It was his first time ever trying one and he is now hooked! The warm, gooey inside and crispy outside treat had him just downing it...in a few minutes. My first time getting coconut on the outside, not too sure I’d do it again. Don’t get me wrong it was delicious but just wasn’t what I thought it would be. I grab one every time I see the cart/truck anywhere in Toronto so I’ll definitely be back.More

We were delighted to stop by and try some of these sweet treats! I had ordered a cinnamon sugar chimney cake, and my family member ordered a tiramisu chimney cone. The icecream in the cone was delicious, and we throughly enjoyed eating the cinnamon sugar...chimney cake as it was nice and warm. Glad to have stopped by! The interior is clean and cozy.More
