Tried to go here on Christmas day as it was one of the few places open in the downtown area. I had stopped going here a while ago as the mediocre food is overpriced and there are better places in the area. But we thought...we would try it for a Christmas brunch in what is a neighbourhood fixture where we used to go back in the day, when it was still appealing. A drag queen was performing as we walked in (great, we love drag) but the music they were playing was at an obnoxiously loud, ear-shattering level for early afternoon on Christmas day. We couldn't believe it. We tried to find a table at the back to perhaps be away from the speakers, but it was just as loud back there. We felt trapped as we had not seen anyplace else on Church open. But my friend, who actually likes lively music and regularly goes to Latin night at another bar on Saturdays, said it would be impossible for us to have any conversation. I literally had to talk directly into the ear of a server to say anything. When I asked if the music was going to be this loud all afternoon, she just said "yes" with not a word of apology or even an offer to turn it down even slightly. I was not asking for the music to be turned off, but simply turned down to a bearable level. This kind of contempt for customers is what drove me away in the first place, and was a reminder never to go back. Who on Christmas day wants to listen to ear shattering music in the middle of the afternoon, the kind that literally makes your ears ring? Happily, we found Fran's diner a few blocks away open, and was bustling with customers, and no deafening music. We were able to enjoy a nice brunch and actually have a conversation, as we could not do at O'Grady's. Don't need that kind of attitude on Christmas day.More

The patio is an enjoyable place to enjoy an afternoon drink. The waiters are attentive and friendly. The tables are rather sticky and I would not touch the flagstone floor. I saw a drink spilled and no effort made to mop the flagstones. Do not...order the food or you will most definitely regret it later. I did!More

The food was overpriced and I saw mice running all over the patio! Made me feel gross while I was eating.

Cool place - awesome Mocktails! And super friendly staff. We just stopped in to have a drink whilst wondering up and down Church Street. Could not have been made more welcome.

Today, we went to O'Grandy's on Church. Our server was Elliot. Elliot's service was excellent and so was the food he suggested. I had the fish and chips, and everything Elliott suggested. Wow! I think, we were served by the sweetest server in Toronto. His...soft "hello" and kind voice makes us come back to O'Grandy's. The restaurant has a very nice patio and a cosy bar. Drinks were amazing! I must say we were lucky to be served by the sweetest server we have ever met. The menu is varied enough. The fish and chips was so delicious! The breakfast menu was equally varied. I could have ordered at least 6 items on the menu. Therefore, the service is great, prices are reasonable. The patio and restrooms were clean and well maintained. Two thumbs up for the food and 5 stars for Elliott's service! Thank you.More

We were served by a new server, 'Elliott' -- very polite server. Just brilliant! We got the highest level of customer service I have experienced so far. He made us feel special. Within 90 seconds, we sat he greeted us and took our drink order....He suggested many drinks (one of them was 'Majito'), and many appetizers (e.g. cheese square, fish takos, deepfried pickels, etc. Shortly, the server took our main meal order. Within two minutes the server brought sideplates and appropriate utensils. Within about 5 minutes drinks were delivered and appetizers with a gentle voice and great smile. Within about 8 minutes and checked to see if we need any refill drinks. As soon as the food was delivered the server asked us if there is anything else he can bring us. He told us 'Bon appetite!' with a smile. Within 2 minutes after the food was being served, the server returned and checked in on us, and asked if the food is to their liking and asked if we needed a refill. Chicking Finger and Fries was delitious. Great Service & great food!More

I stumbled upon this pub while walking around the neighborhood. Unfortunately, I did not check the reviews before choosing the bar, I just decided to go here because: - they have a nice patio - I thought this is a classical Irish pub - there...were a lot of guests so I thought I found a great place :) I ordered a beer and a burger and it was not good - my bun fell apart, the patty was so-so, not great - not terrible, and the number of pickles and onion was pretty disappointing. Overall - pretty bad and definitely overpriced. Wedgies were nice, though. Not coming back.More

My best friend and I went to O’gradys this weekend for my birthday. Our waiter was Tim and he was AMAZING. He had great suggestions, and was able to have great conversations with us. Honestly the best server I’ve had anywhere in a long time!!!

Disabled community and others not "from" Toronto beware. I arrived at 7:30pm on a Sunday and simply asked if I could have a table for one. I explained that I did not see well and that my cell phone was not working properly. I was...wearing dark glasses and a L'Acadie baseball cap & France t-shirt in honour of National Acadian Day. Rather than showing me to a table with a menu, the host simply kept holding a clipboard in my face with what looked like a QR code on it, so I fumbled for my phone and tried to do what he was asking, but he became irritated with me. I told him I just needed a little help but couldn't be at a place like this, and he said, "that's totally fine." He either hates disabled people, Francophones, solo diners or maybe all of these - three strikes this place is out. I went down the street to Hair of the Dog and had the completely opposite experience - welcoming, caring, and attentive.More

The doorman (who also claimed to be "the "manager") is very rude and thinks he is king of universe, he never listens to clients. He was a disgusting man in general: he doesn't mind arguing with customers for no reason and even dropping f** word...to them. The most of their servers are sassy, unprofessionally flirty and arrogant. But there a few good servers too. The place is overrated: too expensive, bad food, bad service, and the only good reason people go their is bar's convenient location. We were a group of friends and when we said we'll leave a bad review if he doesn't change his tone, the doorman said he doesn't give a damn (and he claimed to be the "manager"). I wouldn't recommend this place! Outrageous behavior and very bad service! If I could give a 0-star, I would here.More

I have been coming here for years! This place is amazing, the service is always amazing, the staff is super friendly and the food is always fresh and delicious. They have great COVID safety protocols in place and enforce them which made me feel safe...every single time I visited. Even if you can’t come and stay I recommend ordering take out! They have free local delivery and your food gets to you quickly, hot and fresh. They even have liquor and beer to go! I highly recommend this place, it is a staple in the village and a safe space for everyone. If you are looking for a safe place with great food and drinks O’Gradys on Church should be your #1 choice.More

My husband and I have been coming to and ordering from O'Grady's for many years. Their food is always fresh and delicious and their staff is super friendly and fun. During Covid times this place has gone above and beyond. When we came in to...pick up a take out order recently we were welcomed to a little store inside the restaurant full of goodies like candy, chips, cocktail kits, etc. that they offer in addition to their regular menu and specials. They are super diligent about Covid safety protocols and offer free delivery done by their own amazing staff. We also ordered Valentine's Day dinner here this year and our scrumptious meal and a bottle of wine was delivered by their employee Antonio who was dressed up as a cupid! How adorable is that? Their burgers are probably the best in Toronto in our opinion. We have them almost every week. It's a definite must try. And I personally love their dessert selection, my favorite being their Peanut butter brownie cheesecake. If you have a chance to visit, want to support an amazing local business and like delicious food and awesome people, we highly recommend O'Grady's. We will remain loyal customers for many years to come.More

The food here is incredible, was lucky enough to enjoy the patio while they were open in March. I had the Fish and Chips, it was a good portion, crispy and fresh. My partner had the Steak Stir Fry, again, a big portion with lots...of veggies and steak. Will definitely be back when they can reopen again.More

O'Grady's has long been our "go-to" place because they have the best patio in The Village. The staff is very friendly and the food is really good. With the whole COVID-19 thing, we've been ordering from them a couple of times every month. I call...them directly and place my order, and if I can't pop over to pick it up they deliver it quickly with no delivery charge. A few times the owner himself (Jimmy) made the delivery just to make sure we didn't need to wait too long. Highly recommended!More
