A local place for us. The food is reliably good. A recent refurbishment makes the place look nice as well. Menu is varied. Staff are pleasant

No need to go to Buffalo for nice big juicy wings. Order a huge serving of nachos and beer and you are all set for the night. Go on a Tuesday where the wings are half price. There are some free parking at the back. Been going here for 8 years and this still has the best wings in town.

We ate the higher price meals and it was good. The restaurant has a nice interior and the waitress was really nice and not only to us. there was a father with three Kids under 5 and he really messed up the place. Everything was fine. The place was instantly cleaned after they left and we had a all in... More

I love eating her on a sunny day. Large shade tree and nice patio is a great place to visit and unwind. Food is always good, would say above standard pub fare. Always just order one of the specials off the board. Have had both excellent service and sometimes service on the slower side but who cares when you have... More

I was completely shocked at my disappointment during my recent visit to Dark Horse. We were lured in by the great location and patio but ended up sitting inside. We were a group of 7 which can sometimes be a challenge but it really wasn't very busy considering it was a beautiful day and lunchtime. Perhaps the neighbourhood locals already... More

Nice patio...how can you go wrong with beer? But I did not have any. I ordered the fish and chips...the chips were so-so and they were the best part! The fish was supposedly haddock! I don't think so! It was bland and had a TAIL! Was this pre-fried?! The coleslaw was SALTY and soggy. The worst disappointment.

Several of us had lunch on a week day with very few other customers which I guess should have been out first clue on what was about to transpire. The server was good with taking our drink and food order however he forgot 1 of entrées and was not apologetic or very emphatic. The food took an extremely long time... More

Not great. Slow, inattentive, food was ok. In fact food was good, but took 45 minutes to get out of the kitchen - with only about 12 people in the place. Dissapointing.

Beer, pub food, other road house type stuff. Good place to meet friends or on a sunny day to hang out on the patio.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
