Decorated for Christmas, there was a festive air to the restaurant. The hot bread with brie was delicious. The iconic salad as good as always. The prices have escalated. Adding shrimp to a pasta resulted in only 3 shrimp... The cappuccino had a heavy film...of cinnamon and whole coffee beans floating around, which the server said was a garnish. Although it was sent back, it still appeared on the bill. The attention to detail sadly is lacking.More

We recently had the privilege of dining at the Cook's Shop for the first time. Due to a backup at the border crossing from Detroit to Windsor, we were 1 and 1/2 hours late for our reservation. Spencer (who I presume is the owner) could...not have been more gracious, still allowing us to dine at his establishment. Wow, we're we fortunate! Spencer recommended a sampling platter of the the restaurant's pastas, meats, and seafood. To say that the food was good would be an understatement. Everything was absolutely delicious! The wine and the service was equally impeccable. We will be back.More

Well I finally made it back to The Cook’s Shop restaurant after my good friend and original owner Lino retired. As Lino would tell you I was his first customer when I was all of about 3 years old, sitting on the bar in The...Cook’s Shop restaurant days before the grand opening drinking a Shirley Temple !! Lino used my famous quote throughout the years …”I like this place better than McDonald’s”. Anyway I was cautious coming back without Lino there running the show but I can now say the atmosphere, ambiance, food quality and service orchestrated by new owner Spencer would make Lino proud. Bravo Spencer what a fabulous dining experience just as I have grown accustomed to for 42 years !!!More

This place just keeps getting better. Spencer is doing a fantastic job with making subtle changes and expanding the menu. Owners have changed but each both stand out for different reasons. Please don’t expect the same food and prices post Covid. The restaurant has been...updated including a beautiful patio. The update still maintains the same ambiance as the previous owner. Where the new owner excels is expanding the menus. Outstanding wine selection at various price points. The food is truly exceptional. Every dish new and old have been enhanced in some manner. The service was outstanding. Attentive service with outstanding meals made for a memorable evening.More

First things first, I am Catherine A and wrote the review entitled Amazing in October of 2021. My husband and I went here yesterday to celebrate our 32nd Anniversary. This review will not reflect the same prior experience. I don’t know what has happened. The...atmosphere is still nice. Catherine, our sever, was lovely. The salad and bread were very good. It ends there. This restaurant has become pricey and the food quality has significantly declined. My husband ordered the linguini and clams which used to be exceptional. NOT, the dish was very bland tasting. I can make better pasta dishes at home. I ordered the Tuscan Chicken. Small piece and very dry. Served with a few pieces of asparagus. They did not have the red wine that we ordered, so we were recommended a bottle that was $7 higher and not that good. Overall, a disappointing experience. Leno would be appalled if he realized what has happened to his little gem. I guess all good things must come to an end. I will fondly remember my previous years of fine dining; however, we will not be returning here. All the best, Spencer. You may wish to consider replacing your chef.More

Based on its history and current rating thought we were in for a great dinner but it was disappointing. My pasta was pricey and appeared as a ball of mush on my plate. My friend ordered special for the nite short ribs 45$ they were...nothing special. And we ordered escargot and it was terrible ….go back to the old way of serving escargot. Our server was great, bread was excellent my 2 other friends said they could not rave about their meals either. Won’t ever go againMore

I have been coming to this restaurant for years and tell everyone while in Windsor this is a got to place for Italian. Decor is still as quaint but a wolf in sheep's clothing for the cuisine. I brought a friend here on the premise...of being one of the best I always go to while in Windsor. For starters they brought burnt bread not once but twice to the table. My friend had cavatelli with Bolognese sauce that she took one bite and pushed the dish to the side. I had lasagna that was good but could not eat the entire portion and asked for a take out container to enjoy at home later. Upon reaching home opened the bag only to discover two meat balls not my lasagna.More

Celebrated my husband’s birthday and our wedding anniversary . He chose the restaurant and I was glad. I have been a customer for several years and never had a problem. Tonight, I enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was impeccable. The entrée was such a...disappointment. I told the server to pack it up, only to throw it away. I had mentioned that the entrée was horrible. I was hoping that she had replaced it while I watched my husband enjoy his crème brûlée. I should have stopped for a bite to cleanse the burnt taste. I don’t blame anyone. I should have spoken up sooner. Disappointment all around.More

Most items on the in-house menu are considerably higher in price that the one which is published on-line ie: beef scallopini is $6:00 more expensive. Made reservations for outside on the patio but upon arrival we were not allowed to sit outside despite there being...no one else on the patio and the tables were all set up with tablecloths and set-ups.
