This was my third time at this restaurant. This was my 6th restaurant I visited in 10 days. Went for lunch. The dining room was beautiful and the server was pleasant. I had the Pumpkin and Fennel Soup; it was good but not even warm....My main dish was scallop and pork belly, was again not warm, I like my food hot. I had carrot cake and it was ok. My friend had Lobster Macaroni, she said it was good but not hot. Her dessert was chocolate mousse with raspberries and the cookie was as hard as a rock, the mousse was also hard like it had all just come out of the freezer. While we left a generous tip ( I left $8 on a $36 bill) the server should not have asked my friend if she would like change ( she gave her $40 for a $26 bill).More

We’ve never had a meal here we didn’t enjoy and admire. This is one of our favourite celebration spots.

The Culinary dining room offers an 8 course tasting meal on selected dates during the winter. The cost is $60 per person and the evening is completely run by the students. This year it was a "Taste around the world" theme. Each course is from...a different country. Vietnam, Russia, Switzerland, France, Italy, Greece, Scotland and Hawaii. Yes I know Hawaii is not a country. It is a very interesting evening that gives you a chance to sample some of the different kinds of food that people around the world enjoy. I will caution that YOU may not like every dish. This does not reflect badly on the chefs as I believe they are prepared exactly as they are meant to be. It is just the fact that the North American palette is different than the rest of the world. My favorites were the lamb which was the Scottish dish and the Italian dessert. The only one I really did not care for was the Hawaiian sushi. Not that it had a bad flavor, I just found that there was no flavor. Each dish was well presented and meticulously displayed. All in all it is an enjoyable experience and one that is more fun if you bring friends. It allows you to discuss all the dishes. The only negative I have to say is how long we were there. I knew it would be a long evening as there are after all 8 courses. We arrived at 7 and did not leave until 9:45. I would have liked it if there was less down time between courses. Like I said in the beginning the entire evening is run by the students so they are learning. So really it is not a big deal especially if you really like the company you bring with you.More

The Culinary Institute had a major renovation and upgrade to make the kitchen more visible as well as other improvements. We visited early afternoon before our reservation to see the dining room. Very impressive with 2 full window wall views of the harbor. Table 10...in the corner got our attention with views in 2 directions. The staff member (Georgie) present indicated it was first come/ first serve. We adjusted our reservation to be there at opening. The harbor views and sunset were awesome. We arrived and were comfortably seated in the prime corner location. Our server was Georgie who oversees staff training in the dining room. A surprise pallet cleanser called Amuse Bouche was delightful. Unexpected treat. Started with oysters on the half shell. Nicely presented and flavorful. Tasty mignonette, horse radish and hot sauce complemented the oysters. Ordered a fine wine along with the entrees. Chose a rack of lamb and duck confit. Both came with heirloom vegetables. The cauliflower and puree were delicious. The tint of the puree due to the color of the heirloom variety. Likewise the heirloom carrots very tasty but more purple n color. Each part of the meal presented professionally. Before the restaurant got busy, Georgie took time to explain some of the subtleties of the flavors. Service never suffered even as the dining room filled. Pace of the meal was comfortable allowing time to watch the sunset. Finished with coffee, pastries and ice cream. Our left over were carefully packaged and kept chilled while enjoying desert. The take-home made another great meal. Packaged in biodegradable paper based material. Reservations considered important. The view, service and foods were top notch. This is a not to be missed experience while in Charlottetown.More

The Culinary Institute is a beautiful setting. A seat by the bank of windows lets you see the egrets and herons wading at low tide looking for minnows and the sailboats coming in to dock. The wait staff is knowledgeable about the food -- they...are chefs in training themselves! And the food...really delicious, very fresh. Great salads and seafood imaginatively prepared. Don't miss the display of cakes at the entrance to the restaurant. The Culinary Institute gets the highest recommendation possible from these two foodies. Don't miss eating here in Charlottetown!More

i went during the week for lunch. The atmosphere is wonderful and modern. My table was by the window overlooking the harbor, such a beautiful view. Since the day was cloudy, sun shining in your eyes was not a problem. Wait staff should know if...food items have certain ingredients, like nuts, for people with allergies. Our waitstaff person had to keep checking on certain dishes. The food was wonderful and served expertly. They have a nice offer of a pre fixe menu as well as aka carte. It was great to sit and have a leisurely lunch.More

What a wonderful experience! The food, presentation and service was amazing. Enjoyed the view overlooking the water. Don' forget to make a reservation!

The building is deceiving, especially after dark. The restaurant is literally in a school so you wonder if you are in the right place. But the dining room is like any other elegant restaurant. The windows face the water and I imagine the views are...breathtaking (we arrived after sunset). The baked oysters were perfect and the Arctic char and halibut were exactly to our liking. And the chocolate cake! YUM! I would highly recommend this restaurant, the food, and atmosphere.More

Ample parking. Beautiful location right on the water. Very clean inside and out. Met promptly upon arrival. Menus had a lot of choice of innovative dishes, including local products and beverages. Servers very helpful and informative. Food arrived for all six at the same time....Beautiful presentation, temperature good, taste delicious. Wine was chilled and served correctly. I would return here, and I would recommend this establishment to my friends.More
