Best ice cream ever! Tried it twice on our trip so far, as we were particularly excited for it. Recommended flavours are birthday cake (as they use real cake in the ice cream) and gooey mooey (for burnt sugar, caramel and chocolate lovers). Short line, wasn’t busy on the Thursday when the sun came out after the rain.

I always feel a bit panicked when I'm at a new ice cream shop because I don't want to hold up the line as I'm making decisions or asking questions. However, the staff at COWS made me feel welcome and not rushed at all. They were super friendly from the moment we walked into the shop. Tasty ice cream too!

COWS is a great chain of ice cream stores. We went twice in 2 days. Gooey Mooey, Wowie Cowie, and blueberry ice cream were all great. Service is very good, and prices are ok. The retail part of the store is fun! Lots of shirts with parodies of popular movies or TV shows, quite funny. This is an upbeat, fun place to go to.

I will say COWs has done a really good job driving there brand, but just calm down everyone its just ice cream.
Like most people, i have tried lots of different ice cream in my time and COWs does not really drive a wow taste.
Also, if you are going to charge such crazy prices give the customer a decent size serving. You can afford it, ice cream is a very high margin item.

I'm afraid Cows is living on their reputation. On a recent visit the waffle cone was stale and one scoop of ice cream barely peeked over the edge of the cone and the price was high. No more. What's the Scoop in Montague or the ADL store next to Holy Cow in Morell have just as good ice cream, huge scoops and reasonable (not tourist!) prices. And the servers are friendly - some servers at Cows had a bit of an attitude, at the very least, no smiles.

We ensure our COWS employees are properly trained, which includes knowledge of serving sizes and proper use of our ice cream weighing scales. COWS ice cream is considered super premium because of its higher fat content (14%-18%) as compared to regular ice cream (10%-12%). Adding to the super premium status is the fact that we only use high quality ingredients and we mix our ice cream at a low speed to ensure texture and taste are not lost. Recently came to this Cow Restaurant for an ice cream. Facilities were very clean. Staff members were nice and helpful. This ice cream and delicious and very well worth it. Very pricey however.. I will be back for sure!

While exploring Charlottetown, my husband and I stopped here for ice cream. We shared the double chocolate cheesecake and blueberry. We enjoyed them both. I liked the big cow statue. The giftshop had some cute gifts too.

COWS seems to be a PEI institution - and rightly so, their ice cream is extremely good with lots of flavours on offer (though at a price).
This branch (and shop selling their souvenir merch) is set in an ordinary part of the town and unlike their location at Peake Wharf didn't have anywhere to sit.

After placing the order for a hot fudge sundae with nuts we watched them scrape the bottom of their fudge pot for the “hot” fudge. They had to smear it on the ice cream. Obviously not hot. Apparently they thought it was fine. We refused the order and walked out

We enjoyed the ice cream very much and yes, it is pricey. However, you are on vacation and it's a must do type of thing. The portions could be larger but the quality of the product was very good. Give it a try!

Cows Ice Cream is a must-have when visiting PEI. The shop on Queen St. is a restored pharmacy from the 1800s, just beautiful.

It's worth it to go to the one on Capital Drive at least once for the tour IMO, but if you're downtown anyway and just want the ice cream, this one's just as good.
