We called at 6pm on Saturday night and were told we could come right away for a table for 4. We were the last people seated before we left at 9. Prices are very reasonable. There were 4 appetizers, 1 soup, 4 main courses and...2 deserts and a cheese plate to choose from. All items could be ordered a la carte or 4 courses for a fixed price ranging from $59.00 to $65.00. Although they did not list wines by the glass, they gladly served a carafe of red wine for $28 and a complentary glass of a sparkling white wine in lieu of Champagne. The appetizers were steak tartar, a fish tartar, foie gras pan fried and a seafood casserole. The casserole was delicious in a cream sauce of cauliflower. A cream of tomato soup was served with the price fixed menu in addition to the appetizer and main course. The soup was very good, although it could have been hotter. The main courses were dore poelee pan fried which came with large selection of local vegetables and a cream sauce ($59.95 for 4 courses) filet mignon with potatoes; steak and lobster with root vegetables which was also quite nice ($43.95 a la carte) ; and rack of lamb. Desserts were either creme brulee with lavender, a 4 cheese tray, or another item that I don't remember. The creme brulee was very good with a strong aroma and flavor of lavender. The only hostess and waitress was the lady of the house who was very efficient, but also very charming. All in all it was a delightful and delicious evening. I should mention two things which might be a problem for some visitors. There are several steps to enter the house, and though I did not inquire there did not appear to be a handicap entrance. You should ask when reserving if you will need handicap access. Second, the lady in charge of all service and reservations speaks very little English which might complicate matters if no one in your party speaks French, but if like me you can read a menu in French, it is certainly worth making the effort to be understood by a very patient lady.More

The restaurant is intimate (seats 30), with atmosphere, service, and food, that was exceptional! We would highly recommend for any occasion - casual or celebratory! Thank you to Jean-Pierre Pouliot for having such a quality place to enjoy a family and friends get-together!

It is never pleasant to write a bad review. If one goes to a place - a bar, a restaurant, anywhere - it is for having a good time, a nice experience. In the case of Le Bergerac was even worse: I couldn’t get there....I’m going to Saguenay in a couple of weeks and I wanted to make reservations at the best restaurants in the region, and Le Bergerac is in everybody’s list as one of the best. If it is one of the best reviewed restaurants in the area, it is because many people have had great meals there; that is something I cannot deny. I tried three times to reserve at Le Bergerac. The first, I used the contact form on their website. The next day a very rude lady called me; when I spoke in English she replied, not very nicely, that she didn’t speak English; when I switch to my not-very-good French, she hung up. Second time I used the reservation form on the website – that I didn’t see the first time – I never got a confirmation. Finally, I called. I respected the fact that they want people to speak French. Again, a very nasty lady told me that they won’t be open the day I would like to go. So that’s it. I won’t go to Le Bergerac, and now I will never go. This seems a place that doesn’t want me in, and certainly, a place I don’t want to go to.More

Seriously, I'm asian, I love to eat...I've eaten all over quebec, canada, the us, Europe and Asia. And this place rates in my top 5 restaurants I have ever eaten at EVER!!! The food is sourced locally with an amazing chef who could beat most...chefs in cali or vegas without a doubt. The food blew me away. It was so so so so soooooooooooooo good. The best part was not only was the food stellar, but service was top notch as well. There was no discrimination for being anglophone here and the chef was awesome for translating the menu for us. The beef tartar is the best I have had, the seafood was fresh from the sea. And the dishes were so deliciously made, I could not even decipher the ingredients bc they tasted perfectly together. The food is better than some Michelin star restaurants I have been to. Go here. It's worth the drive. Portions are large for fine dining and the table d'hote menu is plenty for 1...I just wish I had the stomach to eat two bc it was so good. This is one of those places worth the drive out for. It is THE best restaurant I have eaten at in quebec. Period. Without a doubt the best in quebec. If this was on the pier of vancouver or in the city of Toronto. It would be booked solid for months. Guaranteed.More

I went with my girlfriends and we had an amazing experience. I didn't choose the Table d'hote option since their appetizers looked too delicious and I was right. Everything from the beginning was great. Nice and intimate decor. Staff was very nice. I would go...again with my husband for a date night.More

This tiny restaurant, converted from a house, offers a cozy and intimate experience. We ate in a small side-room with a group from work. The wait staff is friendly, relaxed, and helpful. Food is reasonably priced and delicious.

Went to Le Bergerac in Jonquière with my husband for our wedding anniversary. Small restaurant (seats max 18 guests), homely atmosphere and qualified personnel. I ordered beef. The best juicy, fall apart, flavorful beef I've had in my life. Dishes were seasonal, limited and local....We received a right on wine recommendation with our dish. Le Bergerac has it's own private wine collection. Loved every part of my visit. It was quite pricy, 2 starters + 2 main dishes and a bottle of wine costed over $180. If my wallet would allow it, I would eat here every week😉. I would highly recommend it for a special occasion.More
