We were there to order take out at opening time. The floor had not been vacuumed nor washed, the S/P shakers and soy sauce containers on the tables have not been cleaned for weeks. The bar is cluttered with papers and old Chinese trinkets, leaving...just a little space for the cash. The waiter was holding water glasses by the inside with bare hands. As for the food (yes we still believed in them....) the shrimps had over cooked vegetables. Rice was greasy. The cost Payed did not give us the value of goods expected. Sorry, we will not be back.More

This restaurant wasn't very busy for a Saturday evening. We started with the peanut butter dumplings which were ok. Had the steamed rice with veggies, the shrimp toast, general tao chicken, steamed veggie platter and coconut shrimp. All were average. Not sure if I would...go back.More

We visited this restaurant after not having been there for quite sometime. It was old and dingy but nonetheless we ordered take out . There were six people seated in what once was a very busy place at dinner hour. The food was delicious and...brought back fond memories. However, the bill was greatly exaggerated for what we had received. So much so, that we called another well known Chinese spot and repeated the same order. As expected, the price from the second restaurant was less and we know that their servings are substantially bigger. If you’re looking for good food , to take out as you wouldn’t feel comfortable eating in, and you don’t mind over paying , then this is the place for you.More

Disappointed.Although I am a regular customer to this place, I have noticed a drastic changes in the quality of food and services.more specifically the General tao chicken dish.I could barely find a lean chicken in the dish all you find is skin, syrup and fying...ingredients.Further, I have suspected that waiters recycle the food ( refried twice ( not fresh). Also, cutleries need to be renewed lots of scratches , also glasses and dishes. Price of meal is not to the reasonable cost for the quality and service offered.More

We were staying in Laval and went back twice to this restaurant. There are perhaps 20 tables, in a basic strip mall location, very uncrowded at 6 PM. The food was hot, tasty and delicious, low to moderately priced for the quality. The wanton soup...had delicate flower shaped dumplings containing tiny shrimp. There were vegan and gluten free choices, as well as traditional chicken, shrimp, and beef options. Try the calamari entree, it was great! They do a substantial take out business as well. Everything we tried was delicious, tasty and seasoned well. Tip: Bring a sweater or wear a light jacket. It felt a little cold inside. Easy parking, right out front.More

Our family orders for pickup quite often and the food is consistently very good. We love the corn soup, sweet & sour soup, spring rolls, dumplings, General Tao chicken, crispy noodles with vegetables. Portions are generous. They offer an interesting lunch menu on weekdays that...is quite reasonably priced, $8.99 - $11.99. This includes a spring roll, choice of soup, choice of rice or noodles and about 5 main course options, tea + a cookie. Only negative is Le Vieux Kam Shing doesn’t deliver. : (More

This restaurant offers great Szechuan food. The portions are huge for the price you pay. Only negative aspect is their service. My waiter didn’t smile once all night. Apart from that, it’s a great place to come as a group.

Peanut butter dumplings are the best. Bar none. Cantonese chow ming is to die for. The ultimate spring roll. Hot sour soup is fabulous.

The spring rolls (both veggie and pork) were very tasty, and freshly made. Once we got our meals we were shocked by the portion sizes. The plates were huge! The General Tao chicken was pleasantly crisp, but nothing I'm the way of spice like we...expected. The fried noodles were excellent, and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. Very pleasant atmosphere. We have a new favorite place to go!More

This is the second time we eat hear. The first time we were just two, food was good but we didn't try too many things as we weren't many. Well this time we were a group of 8 (we called for a reservation out of...courtesy, bc I think they welcome everyone). Everything we ordered was delicious. This is NOT fine dinning, don't expect the white table cloth and new age decorations, BUT the food is delicious and authentic. We ordered the wonton soup which came in a large bowl for all of us to share from, lovely idea. The only thing the children complained about was that they don't have egg roles. So if that's a must for you, go somewhere else, yet their springrolles are just as good. The General tao was good, but our favorite was the Salt and Pepper chicken (2nd time we order this) a little spicy but AMAZING. The beef and veggies and cantonese noodles were good too. Like i said we enjoyed everything. The other thing the children wished for was dessert, they only have fortune cookies.More

Fairly large venue with basic interior. Lunch specials and a large regular menu. Service and timing is quick. Food relied too much on sweet sauce rather than more traditional flavours and spicing. Hot and sour soup was ok but also too sweet. Better examples can...be had elsewhere.More

Fresh is my word of the day. Can't believe I have had this restaurant right under my nose and I never thought to go inside. I mean I've been next door and to every restaurant that surrounds this place, but have never been to Kam...Shing. I missed out. I guess the look of the restaurant just never attracted me, but looks in this case are very deceiving. Ordered the peanut butter dumplings, the beef and shrimp plates (wish I could remember which exactly they were), but the shrimps were big, the plates are big and the food is fresh. I don't know what to say asides from FRESH. Beautiful. Will definitely be back.More
