Must be new ownership, or new chef, or new something but this place which was quite good has fallen on hard times. Service: we waited one hour for the starter and another hour for main courses. The order was screwed which didn't matter as most plates were dreadful. Not to be returned to.

M. Clermont, I am sad to see you had such perception of your evening. We do realize all was not perfect (I will be answering in details to your friend who posted the other bad comment on our page). However you must know everything is recorded in a restaurant and it is not right to lie about the facts you... More

It's sad when a restaurant that you have enjoyed before and have recommended to friends drops the ball. It becomes not only a reflection of the restaurant's quality, but of your judgement. So this weekend when family and friends were in town, we were excited to once again visit Restaurant Carte Blanche. The space is very welcoming as is the... More

During the "MTL @ Table" food week, we decided to try this place that offered a very interesting menu (going left field compared to many other restaurants participating in this yearly event). It is important to note that during this event, the regular menu is not offered... the restaurants limiting their food offerings to 2-3 appetizers, 2-4 main courses and... More

They are currently offering an anniversary special on Tues/Wed nights on their table d'hôte menu, so for $42 each we got an appetizer, main, and dessert (and you bring your own bottle of wine). You can also order à la carte. It was a quiet night at the restaurant, and we had an enjoyable evening: the food was delicious and... More

We like this restaurant so much we ate here twice in our 5 day stay. Food was really good and excellently presented. Price was very reasonable and the fact they you could bring your own booze even better! Service was exceptional and our waitress was very friendly and charming. Would certainly recommend it.

You won't find this restaurant by walking around. You need a recommendation to get there and enjoy tasty dishes prepared fresh for you. The host was fun and friendly, but most importantly, the food was good. That's all you need to know, other that you need to bring your own bottle of wine.

Hey, I love all animals just as much as the next person, but the kangaroo meat was already in the chefs fridge ready to go, so it would actually be worse if it went to waste. Small quaint place. Don't let the neighbourhood fool you, the service, friendliness and food quality could fit right in anywhere on Laurier or Bernard.... More

We just had dinner at Carte Blanche, and it was terrific. Clean, comfortable restaurant with crisp white table linens. Bring your own bottle- but the server went the extra mile to bring us a cold ice container to keep our local craft beer cold. My dinner was amazing- it was one of the specials for the evening: a duck foie... More

Carte Blanche is the new leader of Montreal's Bistronomie trend.

Lunch is bistro style with a pre-fixed menu at unbeatable value. The chef and owner (elected 2010 Chef of the Year by the Society of Chefs) will welcome you in the evening with a more elaborate selection of fine cuisine.

All is served in a contemporary decor (finalist at the 2006 Creativity Montreal Design contest) and relaxing atmosphere.

Carte Blanche is ideal for romantic diners as well as business meetings. The restaurant can also be reserved for cocktails, happenings, group lunch or dinner.

Staying in Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)

Neighbourhood Profile
Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)
Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighbourhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.
