We were walking down the boulevard just enjoying our last day in Canada after 3 weeks of touring Quebec and Ontario as we happened to pass Laïka... We just couldn't resist and sat down for a local beer. I could have spend there the rest of the afternoon. Cool, easy going, friendly people (both guests and personnel). When I visit... More

Brunch is by 3 pm and if you are around having a walk in this neighborhood you can't miss this place. My friend took me here and at the beginning I was like "meh".... After few seconds I started to enjoy the vibe of the place and the crowd of young artsy people. I live in New York and the... More

This is a place to hang out with friends and listen to DJs. The food is good and they have a good selection of beer and wine.

Very intimate little bar often with live DJ entertainment. Service great. Good place for a drink, snack and/or dessert. The cheesecake was spectacular!

I was reluctant to write this critique because I don't want one of my favorite places to become a trourist attraction but, I decided to take my chances. This is one of the best week-end brunch in Montreal (but also a great place for lunch), and one of the best coffee place. They make things you don't have the patience... More

We met up with friends and shared a nice bottle of wine & drinks here. The djs and quieter atmosphere are good. The location is great, as you can easily go bar hopping on st-laurent. I read that they also do brunch, I would love to try it out.

Was looking for a quite place to pop in and have a drink and a chat. It being a Friday night everywhere was much too loud for my tastes. I found this place and while the restaurant was bustling the bar which was tucked away in the back, was nice and quiet.

I went to a Laika with a friend and because of the near perfect weather we grabbed a table outside. The service was good and laid back, and I really enjoyed the food and beer that I had (I ordered the chevre chaud) If you just want a laid back place to grab a drink and chat then I would... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
