I've been here a number of times and the food is always good. The lobster salad and Unagi is delicious. The rolls are unique combinations. Every time I come to Montreal I eat here.

Food-3 stars Service-3 stars Decor-3 stars Value-3 stars Went for a late lunch with my wife. Restaurant was relatively empty because it was after the afternoon rush. Service was friendly but waiter was not too informed about portion sizes until he came out with plates...to show us. Waiter never asked how our meal was and never refilled our glasses of water. Considering how few people were in the restaurant, kind of inexcusable. We were inquiring about the lunch salad sizes. Prices seemed reasonable at about the $14 range. That is up until we saw the size of the plate and how much salad you got for $14. Not a good value and priced way to expensive for the amount you will receive. Decided to start with a salmon spring roll and my wife and I enjoyed it. It was a rice paper roll so not deep fried. This was the best part of our meal. Then we sampled 3 different makis. We had the California, New York and Kamikaze. I liked the fact that they were the right size with not too much rice but the rice quality left a bit to be desired. The texture of the seaweed paper was also not pleasant since it was very chewy. Rolls were well cut and presented with little drama. Prices of the Makis were about $7+ and are competitive. Counter where sushi was being prepared was also full of crumbs and pieces of food. under the counter fridge.Would go back but will be selective as to what I eat. Just don't expect a 5 star experience.More

I couldn’t resist buying another La Vie Urbaine coupon for only $30.00 with a retail value of $60.00. When we arrived, Steve, our waiter showed us to our table. After looking over their menu, we ordered the following; We started with a dish called Geisha...($18.00)/8 pieces, absolutely delicious. Next we ordered the Salmon Katsu ($17.00)/6 pieces. These pieces of coated salmon melted in your mouth! Next came the Harumaki ($8.00)/6 pieces, which were Imperial Rolls with shrimp and chicken. We also received a plate of assorted Chef’s choice ($15.00)/6 pieces. What can I say, delicious! Lastly, we ordered spicy Salmon Kamikaze ($7.75/5), Spicy Tuna ($7.95/5), and a dish called Rainbow ($8.95/5 pieces). Everything was delicious, as usual. We ended taking home about 10 assorted pieces of sushi. If you have never visited this restaurant, put it on your list. Make sure that you make a reservation, as they are usually busy on the week-ends. Enjoy!,More

Went with my nephew for the first time; we started with Miso seafood soup, just excellent, so yummy. Than we had the tuna salmon spring rolls, very tasty and fresh. We had sushi, just perfect. The presentation very nice; fresh and delicious. Wine on Wednesdays...is half price, I loved that so much. For sure I'm going back to this place, cause sushi is one of my favorite food. Service is great. Thank you KOKORO!More

We were in the mood for some sushi and decided to re-visit Kokoro. I made a reservation during the week to assure that we would find seating. By about 7:45 p.m. the restautant was packed. They now have a small terrace area if you wish...to eat outside. Our waiter, Charly, was excellent. We were quickly seated and had a chance to look over their menu. We decided to ask Charly what he would recommend. We started with 2 small tacos, one Salmon ($7) and the other Seafood tartar ($10.00). Both were delicious. The taco shells was light and crispy and filled to the brim, very good. Next we ordered the Red Dragon ($23.00/8 pieces). It consisted of 8 large pieces, each containing lobster, salmon tartar, avacodo and caviar. Another winner. Next our Beef Shashimi arrived($14.00). It consisted of 12 thin slices of Filet Mignon Carpaccio. It was also very good but the filet mignon was served a bit too cold, so we let it sit to reach room temperature. We wanted to enjoy the flavors. Lastly, we ordered their Kamakaze Salmon ($7.75/5) the Spicy Tuna ($7.95/5) and the La Sirene ($12.50/5). Each was delicious. We ended taking home a few pieces of sushi, as we full. Kokoro is open for lunch between 11- 2:30 pm and supper between 5 - 10:00 pm. Parking should not be a problem. Remember to call ahead and make a reservation. It looks like the hot spot to be to enjoy their sushi/tapas.More
