We had a lovely Valentine's evening. We do not eat meat, but enjoyed a vegetarian jambalaya and grilled tuna. The staff was there without hovering. Service was slow, but it probably was intentional to allow customers to enjoy the live music.

Chose restaurant based on recent reviews and on ad in Centaur Theatre material. Very disappointed. When I inquired about their pre-show menu that was heavily advertised not only on their website but also at the theatre I was given a strange look followed by the...More

Wow! First time at Buddies Jr rest. Food was 10 times better than the old Biddles...They have a simple menu, with a southern flare. Omg, extremely tasty. We had a rib/chicken parmesan roasted potato, mac& cheese shared platter, wrapped up with a night of jazz....More

Had seen Charlie Sr in my youth, growing up in Mtl and wanted to pass tradition to my son when I heard Charlie Jr had opened a spot of his own in Old Mtl. Beautiful casual surroundings, perfect in bringing jazz to Old Montreal. Great...More

My husband and I walked in off the street to find a true gem. Cozy atmosphere with wonderful food and a jazz band with the singer/owner having a velvet voice. Highly recommend!

I've visited a lot of places for dinner/drinks in Montreal on business and now on a romantic weekend with my wife. Biddles, Jr. Is my favorite. Great atmosphere, tasty and creative food and the consummate host in Mr Biddle. Definitely worth multiple visits!

We wanted a different meal than "high-end French" within walking distance of the Basilica - Biddle's Jr fit the bill. We came on a Wednesday evening - a very quiet night. We started with crab cakes, which had tasty dips/relish on the side. My partner...More

Biddle's Jazz performance was PHENOMENAL. We had such a great time, we decided to go back a second night. The owner is personable and walks around to greet everyone who enters his club. There is no cover charge. The food prices are reasonable and everything...More

Description
As long as i can remember my parents loved to cook and entertain for friends and family...it all started in our house in Val-Morin Quebec were my dad played his jazz in the living room and him and my mom would cook for the clients and guests. I was 10 or 11 years old at the time, i would help wash dishes, or peel potatoes or serve tables it all depended on what was needed. I learned quite young how to cook, tend bar, and serves tables, dont tell anyone, but i was serving bourbon before i knew what it was... Soon Uncle Charlies "Jazz joint" was the talk of the Laurentians just an hour's drive north of Montreal.
