We made the mistake of coming here expecting to find something to eat along with our drinks. The portions aren't really suitable for dinner, although the food was tasty. The drinks were well made and a lot of care is put into making them. We sat at the bar so we got to watch our bartender make many of them.

ATMOSPHERE - What appears to be a tiny sushi shop is actually a swanky speakeasy just beyond the black curtains of the entrance. It's modern yet keeps its theme with traditional Japanese decor. It's a classy bar great for a date night or just for a couple of drinks with friends. PRICE - You can already tell that this is a classy place by the decor. Cocktails are around $15, more or less, then you have tax and tip on top of that as well. With two drinks and two small food items, we were at $55 before tax/tip. Quite pricey IMO but if you're coming here, it's more for the experience and not to get shxtfaced. LOCATION - Easily walking distance from my hotel, close to the Notre Dame as well. SERVICE - Great service overall. Staff were knowledgeable about the drinks and were able to recommend items based on our preferences. FOOD/DRINKS - Pricey, was previously stated. I got the Shiro (made with grapefruit instead of Japanese white peach) and it was strange at first but I enjoyed it. I liked that it was fruity. Presented nicely as it should be in a fancy cocktail lounge. Food was mediocre and pricey for what it is. I'd recommend coming here after dinner for a drink or two only and move onto the next bar. Overall great experience for a hidden bar in Montreal.

english-only "please wait to be seated" sign. really, in this day and age in Montreal? were seated by the front door with cold wind blowing in. nice atmosphere. kind and professional wait staff. absolutely delicious cocktails. Food was meh -- hiyayakko was disappointing, with weird, foul-tasting "pork" crisps on top that never should have been there in the first place. salmon hand roll was yummy, as was unagi donburi.

No notion of client service whatsoever... rude and arrogant waiter, toi bad because the place is nice and the rest of the staff seemed nice too, but you only get one chance to make an impression and this guy blew it...

Recommended by Zibo! around the corner for a late night digestif after most other bars in the area had closed at 11pm, this is a fun, intimate late night quiet bar. Friendly service and comfy looking seats in addition to a number of comfortable seats at the bar. We were not rushed at any point while sipping on a cocktail and enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly yet chic ambiance.

Part of me is sad that this will no longer be a secret. But part of me would love the whole world to experience this. This is a gem in the heart of the city and every tourist should experience it. I feel like I am thrown into a bar in Shibuya. Ishigaki San is the drink to go!!

This "hidden" bar was hyped up in a local paper recently and it sounded interesting so we wanted to go. Their website describes themselves as being "behind a fish shack" and that food could be gotten there and eaten at the bar. But try to find out the opening hours... pretty difficult. Their website says they are open Sunday from February (this is May) but the website for the "fish shack" says they're closed on Sundays. So try to call for confirmation. Only a recorded message saying reservations are not needed and for further information contact them via FACEBOOK! No email contact given and no way other than Facebook to contact them. But NOT EVERYONE is on Facebook! And they're a business, so they really should answer the phone and/or give an email address to contact them. Bottom line is that in spite of what it says on their website, they are NOT open on Sundays. So we went on a Saturday night which by all indications would have it all open. The bar itself was very small, but quite attractive. The staff were friendly. If you like unusual (and quite high-priced) drinks then it might be a good place for you. When they first served our drinks I was very impressed... large glass, filled to the top. But then we realized that inside the glass was a huge ice cube that filled most of the glass. I doubt there was more than 2 oz of liquid in there, which at $14 was quite expensive. We ordered a couple of salmon tartare hand rolls at what seemed a reasonable price, but then found they were so tiny that it was a real disappointment. Maybe a third of the size of a normal hand roll in a sushi bar or restaurant. Overall it was a disappointment. Not going back, that's for sure.

Cant say enough about this place. Decor is amazing. Tables and seating is fantastic. Tiger mural very bold and different. Music is great. Its perfectly lit and staff is on top of things. Great sake as well. Quality cocktails at only $13. I just might think i prefere it to cloackroom. The Goto cocktail by far my favourite. Gokudo is easily now in my top three cocktail bars.

Nice hidden place for drinks, but pricey but well worth the adventure. Ask the waiter for advice, they are awesome
