While the Dominion Square Tavern is open until midnight, all of my visits have been for lunch and it's been a treat every time. Place has been around since the 1920's and has maintained the same glorious décor. It's undergone major transformations over the years...More

The Dominion Square Tavern is the type of place where you feel comfortable as soon as you step in the door. The decor is Tavern nostalgic in a very Wes Anderson way... authentic, kitschy and cool... it all feels somehow strangely familiar. Old school cocktails...More

Love this place! Fill your tum in a classic revamped 1909 tavern. Braised beef with cheddar mashed potatoes was tender, rich and perfect followed by a really interesting and light orange steamed pudding for dessert. Yum! Service is a bit rushed, (they are a bit...More

Delicious food and superb drinks. Try the scotch egg, not a huge fan of eggs but this was unbelievable still trying to figure out how the egg was not completely hard-boiled. Great service! Be sure to make a reservation!

After an afternoon of touring on the Hop-on Hop-off bus, we asked the driver for a recommendation for an early dinner. He pointed to the Dominion which was right across the street from the final stop. It turned out to be our favorite dinner and...More

It’s relaxing. It’s fun. The food is very good. They don’t have a big menu and yet you can always find a few things to choose from. If you’re early, sit at the bar, have a glass of wine, look around to soak in the...More

I went with a friend on a thursday which was "duck day". Each day of the week they do a different special. The confit of duck was excellent as was the salad that preceded it and that came with it for $24.00. Very attentive service...More

Went by myself and ate at the bar. Great atmosphere with no TVs, very lively on a Wednesday night. The meat ploughman was huge and delicious. The man sitting next to me was eyeing it jealously.

No silly tv's hanging on the walls, or crap processed food. This is a great tavern, fantastic food and ambiance, good service, and a location rich in history. This is Montreal.

i would probably say "No". Obviously entirely up to you but the 2 times we visited it seemed full of business people at lunchtime and an adult crowd in the evening. (Plus there isn't a lot of space). Regards. Kev

RESERVATIONS ARE FOR MEALS ONLY. PLEASE NOTE, 18 YEARS AND OVER. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE OR CANCEL RESERVATIONS THAT DON'T CONFORM OUR GUIDELINES. Featuring a plethora of interesting 1920s-inspired design details, the Dominion Square Tavern is a cut above your average downtown eatery. Enjoy simple classic fare such as mussels and fries or a pulled pork sandwich in a warm, inviting atmosphere. Top it off with a sinful serving of sticky toffee pudding. Newly reopened, the tavern is already a huge hit with the downtown professional crowd. A full bar, cocktails, wine and beers awaits.
