Best Fish n Chips on this Side of the Pond! Brits rejoice! THIS is the place for you, for all! Well worth hunting down, this slit of a shop was playing futbol on the tellie and serving up some of the best British classics ever! With a Burgundy Lion Al in hand, the fish was fried to perfection and the chips were abundant, the deep-fried Oreos along with the beignets aux pommes will bring a tear to your eye! Lastly, the shrimp salad was nothing short of savory and our applause to the chef! Looking forward to returning again and again with each visit to Montreal!

A “fish and chips” is a change from a poutine or a burger, right?.........especially if it is of quality! Several fish available (salmon, haddock in maple syrup, etc.) also some fish burgers The menu is not very exhaustive but the quality is there Standard price for the city center: $100 all inclusive for 3 (fish & slips and drink) English setting (and music!) Nice An original address

Cute little fish & chips place. Half of the space is counter, bar height seating and the back half are small tables. Ordered the cod with chips and tamarind fried shrimp along with a pint of beer. All were delicious! I devoured it all. Casual, easy, fun, & tasty!

Stop Cherry Picking. Hello, today August 9, 2023 at 12:45 p.m. when I arrived I wanted to stop to eat, I am a 37 year old real estate retiree, I am 71 years old and this is the first time I have been refused access, when I arrived there were eight places available including a table of 4 was reserved, the waitress was outside cleaning another table of 4 people, that's where I asked her to sit, she tells me it's reserved for 4 people, rushing to put a "reserved" on the table and there isn't a customer outside waiting, yes I'm alone but I'm not poor, I just wanted to go try the Fish & Chips that I had seen the day before on the show “Sur le Pouce” with Stéphane Fallu. You should remove from your site the words "First come first served" and "no reservations" THIS IS FALSE I am used to going out to eat alone and leaving very large tips but impossible to eat in your restaurant. I left the town of Anjou, I cycled more than 15 km to get to your restaurant. Hmmm, that doesn't make me want to go back, but I'm going to let my social networks know that if there are not four people, even a couple, to have a table outside, it's better to do without it. The waitress never found a solution for me, whether inside or by separating the tables I felt that I was not welcome and yes I am a little old man on a bike, don't worry, I have found a restaurant to welcome me following this prejudice.

We were working in the area and I got a hankering for fish and chips and I knew the restaurant was there, so three of us went, my treat. Service was slow, the food was soggy and luke warm and the price was high relative to what we got, both in terms of quantity, as well as quality. And we had to wait 30 minutes to get the bill.

The fish and chips were virtually black in colour not the light golden brown of traditional fish and chips. The batter was soggy. The chips too thin and ‘scraggly ends’. (Suggest the oil needs to be changed more often.). The peas arrived cold and were returned to be heated - but they were no better warm - they are mashed and creamed peas not traditional mushy peas . Service with a smile was absent ( unlike every other place in Canada where people are so welcoming and helpful). Not good, wouldn’t go again.

Went for a late lunch ( 2 PM) with the family. The visit was planned and it worth it! We were sited and serviced quickly. I got cod fish and chips and the fish was perfect- crispy outside, melting in the mouse inside, not excessively salty. My wife got haddock and it was similarly good. Importantly, chips were also very well done, not overfried and not insanely salted as it happens so often. The only thing to improve is that they have very small tables which are OK to seat two people but not more. Both fish and chips were better that I have had in the US in years. I would definitively be happy to visit Brit & Chips again.

I went to the restaurant last month with a British friend who grew up in England eating fish and chips in pubs. She ordered the cod with chips, and I had the salmon. We were both very satisfied with our meals. We decided not to have dessert, but my friend wanted a cup of tea. To our surprise, the restaurant doesn't have any tea. How can they serve a traditional British food without the traditional cup of tea? My friend was very disappointed. How hard is it to provide boiling water and a bag of tea? Coffee just isn't the same. If there really was a team of experts who trekked through England to Fish n' Chip shops, then they would have noticed that tea is a staple in British life. So, while I do recommend the restaurant, I also recommend that you BYOT (Bring Your Own Tea).

We love fish & chips and when we were in England we sought the highest rated we could find. When in Orlando, we ate at Gordon Ramsey’s fish place and it was great, but not as good as this. The Haddock with maple syrup batter is the best we have ever had. Our server was very attentive and sweet. We will be back the next time we are in Montreal. If you love fish and chips this needs to be your destination!

One of the best meals in Montreal. The fish and chips were delicious, especially their homemade sauce. The small green salad was also delicious and had great homemade salad dressing. We ordered takeout and the food was made quickly and tasted very fresh. Would definitely recommend eating here for delicious, quick food.

thanks t/a. first nite in montreal and our airbnb happened to be 2 blocks away from Brits. we never order fish and chips because they have so much batter but here it was amazing. had the haddock with maple syrup, subtle and light and exquisite. we also tried the special of the month which was a beef & lamb gyro which was also good. capped with a delicious nutty brown ale and great service, i can see why this cheap eats is rated so high in ALL of montreal.

If you think this is the best fish and chips you've had, it's not. Not even close. The fish was okay, nice batter. Not made fresh on the premises. The chips were awful. Slightly hard, overcooked a few times, and very greasy. Very disappointing for the high price you pay. The service was slow and I was given a wooden cocktail stick with a fork shape to eat with. No cutlery!

My husband and I visited for late lunch on a Friday afternoon, we were excited to have a nice pub meal. The restaurant is bright clean inside, definitely had a Brighton feel to it. I’ve always wanted to try a scotch egg so we had that to start and then we both ordered the cod fish & chips. I had high hopes for the scotch egg but it was odd because the outside was warm but the egg inside was very cold so it just kind of threw off the flavor. The fish was pretty good but one of my pieces was definitely over cooked and the size difference between mine and my husband was very apparent. The fries were good, I like that they’re not overly greasy and this was one of the only places we visited that the food was properly seasoned. My husband also ordered a side of gravy and they gave more than enough for the two of us which was nice. It was a good meal, nothing spectacular though.

We were very hungry and could not decide what to eat for lunch. We walked by Brit & Chips on McGill and though, why not! Glad we did. Fish was fresh and batter was flavorful. Chip were crispy and hot. Wonderful tarter sauce. Had a good list of local made British styles beers to compliment. Perfect for lunch.

Ordered via Uber eats. Two items out of four not delivered, still charged whole amount, no message , no refund. Basically I was ripped off. A shame as food that was delivered was actually not bad.
