I went here on a whim on a hot summer night with the boys and got treated to a perfect meal of grilled fish, a number of appetizers and a dessert platter with excellent service by the owner and some great drink. At tax tip included 90 per person I consider this feast (with abundant booze) to be one of... More

Four of us dined at Vegera, recommended for its Greek specialties and seafood. They have a nice wine list with decent Greek wines. We took advice from the waiter (owner?) who recommended we share the "family style" dishes. So we ordered Greek salad, spanakopita (four little perfectly brown triangles), a zucchini/eggplant dish with tzatziki, a half order of arugula salad... More

Dinner for 4 and an amazing taste experience. Ambience and service to match as well. Impressive wine selection, both Greek and continental wines. Started off with Saganaki and Fried Calamari, moved on to Greek Salad and Grilled Octopus, split a Grilled Sea Bass for 2, with a double order of Grilled Swordfish for the other 2 at the table. Steamed... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
