Visiting a friend we searched on trip advisor where was an excellent Thai place near where we were. Reviews were good but we never expected a friendly and excellent food. Our water was accommodating and discreet. We started with a coconut scrimp soup very testy not overly spicy so we can't taste the ingredient but could have been hotter. (Heat).... More

The waiter came to us not even 5 mins after being seated for our choices. We were not ready yet, came back several times after, really annoying. food was ok. Felt like we needed to leave after paying our check as when we asked what time resto closed at, waiter said "anytime now as we all need to go home,... More

Galago Bistro Thai is one of those hidden gems that you won't find unless you know someone living in a city. Luckily, friends took me to this quaint restaurant in Outremont. The restaurant has a small patio in a quiet neighbourhood, which was great on a hot night. The food was fabulous: I began with the spring rolls with crab... More

We found it by chance. Tried it. Went back at least 4 or 5 times (we live in Montreal). The street is cute, quiet. One of the few restaurant in Montréal where you don"t have loud music in your hear (well I didn't check inside)... so just for that, rush there. Food is spicy, but not too much. Good quality,... We were going to another restaurant but had mixed up the dates, so we were in this charming residential neighborhood looking for a place to eat. Galaga is an unassuming restaurant with a small number of tables outside. We were lucky and got one. The food is really good. Spicy but not overpowering the flavors and the portions were such... When you need your Pad Thai... there aren't a lot of options in Outremont... this is the place to go, and I feel like it should be busier. The service is excellent, food is inventive... great patio! See for yourself! We even order take-out sometimes and its always delicious.

I went to this restaurant for the third time this week and it was still fan-tas-tic. The food is delicious and the price tag not so hard on the wallet. It's a small restaurant so if you plan to go on a friday-saturday night you better make reservation. In the summer you can also eat on the terrasse outside. It's... More

I love this little place. It's quiet, it's quaint. On a tree lined street in a little neighborhood of Outremont. Everything was delicious and the waiter was cute to boot! I would definitely go again and have been a few times! Go!

Staying in Outremont

Neighbourhood Profile
Outremont, a quaint residential district just north of Downtown, is a peaceful, low-key setting known for its mod cafes and bistros, and some of the best walking territory Montreal has to offer. Visitors can explore the flowering parks and manor estates of Maplewood Street, then window-shop the popular bakeries and coffeehouses on main arteries of Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine and Rue Van Horne. The modern granola feel is complemented by contemporary art exhibitions, rotating theatre productions, and a welcoming public library. Also a nexus for the city's Hasidic Jewish culture, Outremont's diversity resounds in its cuisine and in its architecture. Visit the colorful neighbourhood to take advantage of boutique shopping on Avenue Laurier, or to test the artisanal flavors of Avenue Bernard, braving a salmon burger on a squid-ink bun or accommodating your sweet tooth with a provincial chômeur pudding. A visit to Outremont is a relaxing day.
