Wanted to try a place where the locals get their smoked meat. I'm a benedict fiend so I wanted to try the smoked meat benny. I'm not sure how they make the hollandaise sauce but it seemed almost mayonnaisey which I wasn't crazy about, just...different than I am used to. The smoked meat was pretty good and I tried knish for the first time. The knish are very filling and we ate the leftovers for snack later on in the day. The server was super nice and checked in regularly to make sure we were happy.More

I recently went for lunch with a friend to Snowdon Deli and it brought back memories. Their take out counter was busy, as usual, with people buying stuff to eat at home. Once we were seated and had a chance to look over their extensive...menu, our waitress came by with water and to take our orders The service was quick and my mouth watering platter of old fashioned smoked meat ($18.00) arrived quickly. It was accompanied with bread, a large dill pickle and delicious fries. Wow, it brought back memories, since we hadn’t been there in quite a while. I also ordered a Cherry Coke ($2.50). My friend ordered the old fashioned smoked meat sandwich ($12.50) with fries ($4.50) and a coke ($2.50). Their menu is extensive with all sorts of goodies for breakfast or lunch. Enjoy 😊 Parking can still be a problem!More

The smoked meat was excellent, the pickles were nicely sour, the rye bread was OK, the corned beef was tasty, and the menu was huge while the portions were only moderately sized.

SnowdenDeli remains one of the best go-to places in Montreal for delicious Jewish style meals. We were three and two of us had brunch and one went the conventional deli route, ordering a hot smoked meat and french fries. My brunch dish of eggs, pancakes...and beef bacon with fries was hot and delicious. My husband had the plain crepes and they were excellent. Service, as always, was excellent. Looking forward to going there again soon.More

It's on the on-ramp from Queen Mary Road to the Decarie autoroute. No parking. Wasted time with no Smoked Meat sandwich (in 15 years) reward.

We checked the website for their hours and it showed they were open until 7 PM. When we arrived at 5:30 we were told that the dining room is closed. No where on the website does it say only takeout after 3PM. This was very...disappointing. When I inquired if we could order off the full menu I was told no, I asked what was available and was ignored. Needless to say this was not a good experience. I won't be backMore

Meat lovers paradise. Colleagues recommended the place for some authentic cusiene. Smoked meat sandwich looked so very huge when brought to the table. But the softness of the meat was so remarkable, it just melted as you eat.

This deli is the greatest. I had their sandwich with two kinds of meat: one half smoked meat, old fashioned, medium fat, the other half sliced tongue - something that isn’t offered in all delis. Both were wonderful. We had their cheese blintzes for dessert....Also wonderful. The service was pleasant and helpful. I think this is the best deli in Montreal.More

The minute you enter this establishment, you feel you've been transported to the Montreal delis of yesteryear; Come for the ambience, stay for the excellent smoked meat Pros; - Ambience, ambience, ambience - Quite an eclectic array of deli favorites; from breakfast to soups to...sandwiches to a variety of Central/Eastern European Jewish fare (Karnatzel, Holishkes, Latkes, Matzo ball soup , etc.) - I wholly recommend their smoked meat and rye bread (made in house!) ; don't forget to order a pickle and onion rings :) - Didn't try these during this visit, but I'm pretty sure their coffee and desserts are quite good Cons: - Service during my visit was a bit too brusk to my liking - I wouldn't recommend the tongue meat as it didn't have any discerning taste For tourists, I would suggest making your way out to Snowdon Deli to get an authentic experience. For locals, I count our blessings we still have such places going!More

WOW this place is awesome - I had the best smoked meat sandwich and chicken matzo ball soup anywhere anytime - beats out New York or Toronto hands down. The service was excellent - full of good humour and history. If you like smoked meat/corned...beef/brisket + deli food take the cab ride and enjoy lunch. One of my friends is gluten intolerant so he brought his own buns. As for vegans - hmm - its a Deli!More

With fulfilling, hefty portions and charming, classic diner experience, Snowdon represents a part of Montreal's smoked meat phenomenon. Their smoked meat on rye is a phenomenal beast of a sandwich, and I had to take half of it home. For under $12, this was a...steal. Of course, the seatings were in those classic diner booths, but that's a big part of the authentic experience. To those saying the service is terrible, my experience was full of friendly conversation once I began asking questions and engaging, and got to hear a lovely waitress tell me the long history of how her family came to Montreal as a result of WW2. Great service doesn't always mean a waiter looking over their shoulder to cater to your every move. In Snowdon, it meant connection and learning about one's family history that so shaped a part of Montreal's food scene.More

Rude! Rude ! And Rude Called in for take out, they put me on hold for 10 min and then told me they are not accepting any more orders for take out.The girl that answered the phone said she was told to say "no more...orders" I asked to speak with the manager or owner but they did not want to come on the phone. So many years of ordering, almost every weekend take out and so much for respect to loyal customers.....this is the last time I dial their number. Rude!More

Since I was in the neighbourhood, decided to try this renown deli. Picked up two medium fat - old fashion sandwiches and half-sour pickles. Wow the meat was well brined and had the right amount of spices / salt / sugar ratio. Meat was sweet...and tender. Service at the take-out counter was kind and efficient. Will be my new spot when I need a smoked meat fix.More

We went there Saturday March 7 2020 to compare Schwartz to Snowdon. I ordered a fatty smoke meat, black cherry soda. My wife ordered the Smoke meat platter (Fatty) potatoe latkies and some other round pastry. (We shared) As per a youtube, snowden deli was...suppose to be the best smoke meat in montreal. It had more taste than Schwartz and wasn't bad but it is not the best. The best we have ever had around here is smoke meat pete. that you need to try.More
