This evening turned out to be very special. My wife and I love to explore different restaurants in our wonderful city, so as usual I was browsing through my favorite entertainment site, TRIP ADVISOR , and discovered the wonderful reviews of this Restaurent and decided to make a reservation for dinner. Well I certainly was not disappointed , wonderful food... More

It's been at least a couple of years since our last visit to Per Te, and tonight's visit was quite spontaneous, last-minute reservations on a cold and damp Montreal evening. We were welcomed by the owners, husband and wife team working the restaurant's front-end, and seating us in one of the 2 pleasant dining areas. My wife has always enjoyed... More

This is a small restaurant at the corner of Guizot and St-Denis. It's specialty is northern Italian. The Maitre d'Hôtel is the owner himself. His partner is the chef. The menu is a departure from the standard veal scaloppine and pasta dishes - although to please as many customers as possible there is a choice of pasta and veal. I... More

This is simply a great, quiet and charming neighbourhood restaurant. The place seats around 20 guests. I was there for a business meeting. Varied but basic daily menu choices with a choice of pasta, meat, and fish. I had the garden salad and the pasta all'amatriciana which were both very good and wine by the glass. Service is discreet and... More

We visited this small Italian restaurant in Montreal during our annual visit there for the Formula 1 race. We had rented an apartment in the vicinity (somewhat halfway between Cremazie and Jarry stations on the Metro) and sampled a number of restaurants in the area. We stumbled on to this one day when walking back from the Metro and decided... More

Excellent meal. Had a superb Vitello Tonnato, which reminded me of my trip to Milan. The wine was not expensive and was a good accompaniment to the meal. The service was outstanding - that's what brought it all together. It was attentive without being intrusive. Enjoyed speaking with the owner and his wife. Plan to be back when we come... More

Charming and intimate, this spot is a gem. Food is superb, atmosphere friendly and service is impeccable. First visit was for lunch during the week; at the last minute, we tried to secure reservations the following Saturday, to no avail. Per te - highly recommended - we will be back!

I met the co-owners Luigi and Richard a couple of years ago and have frequented the restaurant for business meetings, casual lunches, formal dinners and special family moments. The cordial and friendly atmosphere once you arrive permeates the entire meal. The attention to detail and Richard's care in bringing out the best in the ingredients is truly exemplary. I have... Per Te is a little Italian restaurant in a quiet Montreal residential area. The food is exquisite! Luigi, one of the owners, makes his own pasta, and it is excellent! Richard is the other owner/chef. He is from Zaire and his cooking is authentic Italian. This makes Richard a special individual. We recently had homemade Luigi triangle pasta stuffed with... More

Staying in Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension

Neighbourhood Profile
The most ethnically diverse of all of Montreal's neighbourhoods, Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension (or, Parc-Ex) stands at the city's centre, a hub for rail and metro traffic. Starting at the old station where the Canadian Pacific used to disembark, the brick-and-mortar surroundings of Parc-Ex have a homey feel, with leafy lawns and bicycle lanes seamlessly incorporated into the landscape. With prominent Greek and Spanish communities, Greektown includes the tastiest stops for brochettes and shawarma, and local bars entertain an excitable soccer fanbase. Jerry Park and Stade Uniprix stand ready for sports diehards to enjoy a game, while the the Complexe Environnemental Saint-Michel and Le Taz skate parks invite athletes to train and compete. Though built for the active and best by day, Cirque du Soleil, the TOHU center for arts, and the Le Boulevard shopping centre offer diversions for those who wish to stay late.
